After polling his twitter followers regarding the worthiness/viability/support for forming an organization as a Poker Union / Association / Voice for the players, Rob Yong has committed to "5 years of “something”, $1.2m for basic running costs + my time, gives time 2 try & get it self financing"

Obviously, to have any chance of success, this would require a committment of time and money from players, especially from those players to whom the game has given so much

Really interesting I wish him the best.

A day will come where all the regulated market will merge together which would incentivize country to join that regulated market. The regulated market will become more attractive than the .com. And each country would have clear rule to define what is a professionnal poker player and how he is to pay his taxes and also how operator should behave.

The countries that have spend the most legislation to try to create an environnement legislatif for the poker industry are to my knowledge France, Spain, Portugal and some states of United States.

Imagine the regulated states of the United States merging with the regulated market of French and Spain, it would be amazing! And other countries and states would be willing to join this big regulated market afterward.

And this lobby could be part of the solution.

More power to him. Now more than ever due to the pandemic, all forms of online gambling (especially a skill based one like poker) is needed online in a national and global manner. I have repeatedly contacted my state reps and senators (as well as governor) associated with the states' gaming over the years but the best I get back is bs if not automated responses.

there are too many competing interests, even strictly among the players. If you give a seat at the table to the casinos/online operators, the organization can accomplish nothing. It will have the same problems/obstacles/disagreements among itself that it is ostensibly trying to resolve
