As a gay couple/guy it is impossible to adopt in 50%+ of states. In the states that do allow it, it is 2x-5x more expensive to adopt and can take an extra 1-3 years.
Because of this many couples opt instead to do surrogacy, although that is a difficult and expensive process as well. (Much easier and cheaper than adoption)
I think the avg cost for a gay couple to adopt is around 100k+ and takes around 2-3 years. Also as in most states you aren't seen as a real couple only one can be the adoptive parent.
