Questions about staking in live poker (cash and Mtt) Questions about staking in live poker (cash and Mtt)

Hi guys,

first i will show you my case and framework, then my questions (makes most sense)

I am playing NLHE more then twelve years, online and live. My main games are live cash games, but I have an online background. Also I am playing online (on apps these days) and tourneys sometimes (live and online).
One year before corona i played up to nl2k live. Unfortunately I had a massive downswing over months, then corona came and all live action dried out....my costs went on ...

Now these days I had to move down in limits, playing nl400 and nl500 live on my own.

Last weeks different guys (all of them I know, some of them are friends) came to me and offered me staking. These guys are not experts in staking and I am also a staking fish (know just basics ). My reputation is pretty good in my small poker network, and these guys know I definitely beat these stakes and tourneys which I wanna play...

My questions:

1. case: I wanna make an offer to my friends for staking for live tourneys. Range from 1k-2k buy ins. Tournament poker is not my main game, but I am pretty sure I beat these buy ins. Unfortunately I do not know my roi because of samplesize. Which mark up would be fair for both ? 1.2 ? 1.3?
I dont know..

2. case: before corona I travelled a lot, played mostly in Cyprus, but also in the USA and Europe. In december I will play in Belgium, and when I am lucky they will have a 10/20 game 2-3 times during the event. Which kind of staking would make sense short term? Makes it sense to sell action like in tourneys? for example I play a session with 400bb buy in max (8k total) and sell shares of it with a mark up like in tourneys?

3.case: a guy I know (not a friend) is making private games, they play 10/10/30...strange blinds, I know. He said he wants to stake me but there is no concrete offer. I was thinking about this, but I am not 100% trusting it. The only case I can imagine to play in these games is not playing with my own money and without a make up! Anyone has an idea which kind of staking would make sense?

4.case: the guy who is making these private games is also agent of a bigger pokerbros club. So I gave 25 buy ins for starting nl100 (6-10 Tables running hole day). Games are pretty soft, rake not, anyways profitable. The next higher limit (nl200) same amount of tables are running . My goal is to reach nl200 at the end of december (30-35 buy ins) and play on my own.
Would it make more sense to get staked directly for higher limits? And if, which kind of staking would make sense for me? which cut?

A lot of text and a lot of questions...

I apologize

Thanks for your help and..

regards and good luck at the tables

just do a standard staking deal, he puts up 100% of the cash, you guys split the winnings 50/50. If you lose then any losses become makeup, against which any future winnings must first be applied. Being staked is great for sketchy situations since the only thing you can lose is your time, but you may just discover a tremendous berry patch.

If games are not clean I also loose money... I have to pay back the make up or not?

What do you guys think about my other cases ?

Which mark up I can offer (without having numbers, just good reputation)?

thanks for your help

No, that's the whole point. They put up all the money and take all the risk, you provide your time and the skill. You never have to pay back makeup, except with winnings if they continue staking you.

FOr example, you play one night, lose $3000. Now have $3000 of makeup. You play the next night, win $5000, $3000 goes to clear the makeup, and u each get $1000 profit.
