I'll be there for the State Director Fly-In. I'm excited, as we're so much stronger than we were last time.

As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, we encourage you to take time to protect your freedom to play poker in all its forms with a few simple actions. Visit the National Poker Week website at www.nationalpokerweek.com to learn more about our efforts to protect your right to play poker whenever and wherever you want. On the National Poker Week website you can:

1. Sign the Poker Petition and join with thousands of other poker players to let President Obama know that you believe in personal freedom and want the rights of law abiding, poker-playing Americans protected.

2. Tell us your Poker Story—film a short, 30-second video (you can even use your cell phone!) and add your voice to the poker freedom movement!

3. Send a letter to Congress to protect your personal freedom and right to play poker at the time and place of your choosing.

Thank you for your continued efforts and have a Happy 4th of July.

Let our poker freedom ring!

Senator Alfonse D’Amato
PPA Chairman

Is one of your plans for NPW to ask members/everyone to please send snail mail to their Rep, Senators, and Obama? I've only done emails in the past but will definitely send physical as well for National Poker Week. In the past people have talked about including an actual playing card with a letter to get more attention. Should that be done, or would we get arrested for sending Obama anthrax?

I'd recommend sending a hard copy via snail mail and the email. However, I don't see us pushing for it because we won't want to be seen as pushing for duplicate letters from everyone (one snail mail and one email). If I had to choose one, I'd choose the email, as snail mail takes around six weeks to get delivered (due to inspections for things like anthrax).

PPA can print out the letters to hand deliver to Congressmen. We did that last time I was there. It made a good impression.
