Hi, registered just to get an opinion...
I don't usually play bounty builders but did today, tournament info as follows:
$1.10
players: 662
prize pool: $1,746
After a few hours I finished 33rd and won the prize of laughable $2.30 plus ($0.81 in bounties but it's about the flat prize I'm shocked about)...and on the table most people with big stacks had bounties ranging from $1.90-$3.70.....isn't that abosulute poop spending so much time even if you get to the final table seeing probably some $10 bounties, you could just go all in in with $1.10 in any cash game and probably win more in one second than you would sweating playing the tourney surviving nearly 600 players....never playing bounties again, anyone else feels the same?

It is probably just a combined effect of:
a) many sites paying far, far too much of the field, so you end up getting a mincash with basically no increases until the final table
b) it being a bounty event so for all intents and purposes the buyin is 50 cents, not $1, which is confusing the OP as to how much the main prize pool should be

You cashed for 3x your buyin... thats a solid result.
PKOs (bounty builders) are very top heavy because the winner receives by far the largest bounty.
Your bounty is pretty small to be that late in a tourney, sometimes theres nothing you can do about it, but you should be willing to gamble fairly wide when you get a chance to play for a large bounty, especially once you start getting deep and the bounties are much larger than the normal payjumps.

Yeah that's the way it goes though with PKO or Bounty Builders. But then again in my opinion every poker site I've played on even in normal Tourney's pay back way too far so you barely make anything for just cashing. You wanna make any amount money to make it worth your time you gotta make the Final Table. Personally though I like PKO and Bounty Builders as it gives you two ways to possibly win money. You can either do well but miss out on Bountys(some Tourneys that just happens) and make the money or I can get on a good roll collect a few Bounty's or get lucky and pick a few off here and there in the right spots. So even if I do miss out on making the money I still got some Bounty's/money outta playing while not cashing ITM.
On a very good day you collect quite a few Bounty's(5-6+) along the way and cash Final Table or top 20. As Ledn says above when/if you get a chance at a largish Bounty(mid-late Tourney) you gotta open a bit wider.....and probably not be afraid to shove all-in over the top to push everyone else out if your stack and table image are capable of getting folders with marginal hands that maybe behind you. If not shove hope your hand worth just calling compared to your stack and that your image won't get a shover behind you that forces you to fold. At the micro/low stakes this can pretty tough to pull off. Some guys will just call your all-in shove with anything no matter what.
Cheers!!!

Be better at poker and you’ll run deeper, making more money.
