[Lithuania] Taxes on Poker Winnings [Lithuania] Taxes on Poker Winnings

Hi all,

I'm about to settle in Lithuania in the coming months.

I'm looking for some information in regards to taxes on poker winnings. Did some research and the information I found looks either dated or wrong.

Maybe worth noting that I will be registered as an entrepreneur since I'm opening a business over there. Might make a difference for paying taxes.

Thanks

Poker is a bit in a grey area in Lithuania, so most of pros choose to hide their income and avoid paying taxes. But if you want to do it the right way - according to VMI (Lithuanian tax authorities) you should pay 15% tax on your gambling income. I heard there are other options, but I do not really know exactly how that works. You could try asking at Lithuanian poker forum.

Hi mimomanas,

Thanks for your answer.

I definitely want to do it the right way. Im French and have witnessed some pretty dirty stories of players hiding their income and having to pay more than 100% of their winnings.. I'll try to ask on the forum you linked me for further info. Thanks again
