Hi Notyouraveragejo. I used to have a law practice on Ponce de Leon in Coral Gables. Moved to GA before I could really take advantage of the SoFla poker rooms.

How in this world could you leave such a gorgeous place like Coral Gables for GA?

Leaving Florida is one of my few regrets.

Hi Ladies, thanks to all for warm welcome.

Adventurerace4: yeah, i heard the poker rooms were not so fun prior to July 2010 when the laws regarding buy-ins changed. That's about the time I started playing, so I was completely clueless as to how that affected the game at the time. There's a lot of action and a lot of poker rooms, so its good to be here now. Plus, i think the machista latin guy attitude works well for our gender. They either think you always have the nuts when you play, which allows for well timed bluffs - or- they think if they bet high enough, they can get you off your hand when you know all they have is middle pair. Either way, if you read the guys correctly, its quite fun to take their money. At least that's how I made a killing last night.

Are there poker rooms in GA?

I am not sure what part of GA you're talking about. I am on the coast, in Brunswick. We have the poker rooms in Jacksonville which are about an hour away. There is the Emerald Princess II casino boat which normally has a 2/2NL game going on the weekend (not ideal, since the rake is high, they only have 1 or 2 tables going, and if there isn't enough interest you're stuck on the water for 4+ hours), and a few other smaller options.

Hello.

I played online for money to keep my brain from disintegrating, but I did not play poker. I was nagged mercilessly by my daughter to try online poker. I signed up at Lock at Thanksgiving and put $30 on, and promptly lost 24 of it. Trying to learn to play Limit Hold 'Em before I "get felted."

I have $10 now. I feel very accomplished! (It really was quite an effort at .02/.04, though.)

I don't feel very confident asking questions in the regular part of the forum, so I thought I'd start here.

GrandmaDegen (My online game name.)

Thanks! I made .65 today. I played 488 hands to get it. I'm making .133 cent per hand.

This is pretty odd. I could read this: How do you know how many hands you played? And, are you real?

But I could not figure out how to PM. Is it because I am new?

At Lock poker there is a statistics tab on the box where they tell you who won and so forth. If you click it, it tells you how many hands and how many you won and how many flops you saw from every position. So every day when I stop playing, I open that and write down how many I played. I'm keeping track on my blog, but I'm not sure it's okay to link that or not.

They also tell you a lot of things on your "Admin" page, but that often is not up to date.

I think I am real. It's sometimes hard to tell. I could be an imitation.

If you want to find out for sure, you can sign up at King.com and challenge me to a game of Jungle Bubble. Be happy to take your money.

Hi all,

I just thought I should introduce myself

My name is Ashley and I currently reside in Los Angeles. I work in entertainment and play poker recreationally. I play cash games, mainly 3/5 NL. My 2013 poker goal is to play a WSOP tourney and want to dedicate the early part of the year honing my game (needs a lot of honing, lol).

Hi all...well I have been viewing the site for over a year and have yet to post or introduce myself, I thought now was a perfect time. My name is Jennifer and I actually saw in a different thread a mention to me. I am the blondish Football Player who played for the Sin last year...I normally play poker at Bellagio or Red Rock. I moved to Vegas for a job (outside of poker) in August 2010 and started playing in a casino regularly, roughly 15-30 hours a week.

Coming from Chicago I knew I liked poker, well the few cash tourneys my friends had each year, but I had never played seriously or read a book. After moving to Vegas I wanted to really understand the game and be profitable. To be honest I am incredibly lucky...my boss and his friends play a lot of poker, some for a living, so I have had great mentors and advice coming my way from the start. I still have so much to learn it is at times overwhelming but its the thing that keeps me interested...

Other then just introducing myself I also wanted to reach out and see if there was any interest in getting together monthly in Vegas. I ran the idea by another female player and she thought others may be interested and suggested I post on here. There may already be a group out there and if so I would love to know about it. Poker can be isolating, especially for us, so it may be nice to have dinner and a few drinks with other like minded females.

Please let me know if there is any interest...

Welcome, Jennifer! I'd be up for the group, but I'm actually moving to Mexico full-time very soon. In the very least, we'll def have our annual meetup this year again the night before the WSOP ladies tournament!

Just thought I would drop in and say hello to the newcomers. I don't suppose any ladies that post here are in Colorado? I liked the idea JLC_TheBeast posted about getting together, but I am not in Vegas.

I figured with the WSOP coming here next month this is a good time to make introductions. Anyone coming down her in Feb?

Hi, I am Michelle. I pretty much stick to playing tournaments in South Florida. Miss the internet terribly. If anyone is coming down to west palm for the WSOP, I would be happy to do some hostessing.

Hello ladies,

My name is Tammy. I started playing poker in 2005. I played on FTP and when I lived in Southern Cal, HG, The Bike and Commerce were my stomping grounds. I never played for a living but definitely spend plenty of spare time playing when I can. I miss playing on FTP but hope the future is bright for it.

I live in Sacramento, CA now and pretty much play NLH tournaments at the local card room. I've played only 1 WSOP event and that was in 2010. I do plan on playing some of the Venetian Deep Stack Series next month...Vegas is about an 8ish hour drive from Sac so the road trip is planned.

I'm pretty new to posting in 2+2. I was a mod for the FTP forum which isn't back up and running yet, but I've found this forum, ldo, to be pretty okay. I'm just not in on all the old skool 'cool kid' jokes like I am on FTP. But that's okay...being new is fun too.

Well, nice "meeting" you all...

Cheers.
