I can learn but where can I play?

I live in Washington. We have some of the dumbest poker laws in the country. You can't play on line for money and the only options are private games and cardrooms. I've been studying the game for about 8 months or so and I'm getting the hang of it. How can I actually get some real hand experience without going broke? I'd like to apply the theories I've learned on people other than free games with bingo players.

I love the cardrooms in Washington State. Why don't you play in those? (I miss Mac n Jack, too -- or whatever that beer is called!)
Another option is to find a host you trust on the Pokerrrr2 app.

I've not played probably for lack of confidence. I think this is one of those things that I'm going to have to do to apply what I've learned?

Can you play on ACR? Pretty sure you can. Just deposit using crypto. Been doing that for years and it's been safe/business as usual.

I may or may not also live in WA and I may or may not play poker on Ignition and bovada using crypto deposits. Another route is playing on clubGG and paying $50 a month to play there stage style tournaments to win a seat in a live tournament. Either choices will work depending on your wants and needs. Run good neighbor!
