But I can't stop playing. 210 hours so far in 2024 is a lot for me, especially since I play mostly during weekday daytime hours. Family obligations keep me from playing during weekends and evenings. I have always been a bit of a fitness freak, but now the poker has cut into that.
I work for myself, so I set my own hours, and I am working less because of poker. However, my work actually pays significantly more per hour than poker. But poker is more compelling. More fun. Basically addictive. But it also sucks and is frustrating when I lose a few sessions in a row.
How do other people limit the amount of time they play when they are running good and it is so tempting to keep playing?
I really don't want to hit a big downswing, but I think I need to limit my poker play to like 4 hrs or less per week. Because it feels a bit like poker is taking over my life.
Don't tell me to call GA.
Keep playing. Eventually you’ll lose and lose and lose and never want to play again. Such is the way of things.
