I am not saying that is actually what happened. My point is that having a card lower than any on the board does not necessarily imply that your opponent actually is playing the board.
Pretty sure it's not what happened as if that was the reason it would be noteworthy and mentioned by the dealer, and it probably wouldn't have been missed by the entire table
OP, call the floor next time since everyone at the table seemed to agree. If they didn't, then if you are a newbie there's a good chance you were missing something
