My hand at showdown 8club ace diamond Opponents is 3club and 5 spades

Dealer said the guy with the 5 spades wins….. but wait the lowest card is the 6 of spades on the board….. this was at a tournaments did I totally get screwed? Or am I wrong? The table went ape **** saying this should have been a split pot

Both of you were playing the board. Neither of you could improve on the KQ876 flush. Therefore, the pot should have been chopped.

Is it possible that you are remembering the board incorrectly? You posted that it was kq876, which indeed should be a chop. However if you remembered only that the low card was a 6, and it actually was something like K9876 all spades, then your opponent did have the best hand (9 high straight flush).

I am not saying that is actually what happened. My point is that having a card lower than any on the board does not necessarily imply that your opponent actually is playing the board.

Pretty sure it's not what happened as if that was the reason it would be noteworthy and mentioned by the dealer, and it probably wouldn't have been missed by the entire table

OP, call the floor next time since everyone at the table seemed to agree. If they didn't, then if you are a newbie there's a good chance you were missing something

Not sure why the table went ape chit though. People need to calm down. Dealers are human and make mistakes.

Calmly point out mistake, if that fails calmly call a floor.
