Avg. Downswing per month? Avg. Downswing per month?

For a solid player in full buyins? Is maybe 2 4 buyin swings per month the avg. Again just your typical solid pro at the stake. Thanks.

I think swing/hands would be better than hours. After all, some people play 4 tables at once, others 9.

I run it twice whenever I can, and at 200bb+ pots I tend to cashout when my equits hits 93%+. This greatly tames swings, but even with that the rollercoaster can be absurd.
Especially if you tilt. Mostly losing tilt,

but some people experience positive tilt as well, when they think they will always hit the board even when the pot odds suck they call.

But for swings:

As for me who moved up to nl25 lately(after running -1bb/100 on nl10 over 60k hands - hit thebad beat jackpot yaay),

I ran -1bb/100 on NL25 too for 50k hands.
Before you ask how I don't fo broke, leaderboards, ggcare and rakeback helps.

Instantly when I moved up I won 5 buy ins in a few thousand hands, then went downhill and lost 10 ending uo at minus 5. So that's 10 BI swing n less than 10k hands.
Then came a loong BE streak.

Fast forward to my last 30k hands:
Lost another 8 BI-s over 5k hands - but also ran under EV by 8 so that gave me hope.
Next 10k hand, breakeven, pretty depressing, and then came the upswing. 20k hands later I'm up 20 BI-s. So I won 28 in 20k hands and now my bb/100 is 7 in the last 30k.
My EV line just now met the green line: from 8BI below EV "I got it all back".

You can really run into coolers and bad beats over a short time, and then magic happens and you go on a heater like this.

I already fear when my run comes to an end run into thr next 10BI downswing,or a looonf BE streak.
BUt 7bb/100 is already over of what I expected, if I drop down to a solid 3bb/100 over 100k+ hands, I'd still be glad. Rakeback and leaderboards boost that nicely (ggpoker).

But the bottom line is: you must experience these swings to really understand how rapsodic and harsh poker can be. Intellectually, I knew these things happen, but I did not really ... get it.

That it is hard to know your true winrate because you can only guesstime whether in the last
x hands you were on the right side or wrong side of the coolers, whether you were lucky because it was YOU at the table who constantly had a hand against the fish who sit at the table to take his stack, and not the other regs, etx.
And in some ways, going breakeven for a long time is can also be due to variance (terrible luck). You may beat the stakes but still too coolers, bad beats, etc hold you back.

The other, bad side of the coin is when you are a -3bb/100 loser in the long run based on your skill, but you run like a god and end up having 2b/100 over 50k hands. But the downswing will come for you eventually, it comes for everyone, but since you were a winner for 50k hands maybe you will never believe that you actually are a losing player. And then ideally you move down the stakes due to BR taking a hit - fuming, depressed,or you go busto.

I never ever went busto, I was always willing to drop down 1, or sometimes even two stakes to regain my confidence and composure - naturally you will win more at nl5 which u already used to confidently beat than at nl25.
Anyone who says higher stakes are easier is wrong. Though I sure feel as if NL25 suited me better than nl10 did, lol.

Poker is beautiful, variance is beautiful - and sometimes, just insane.

TL;DR: 10 buy in swing in 5k hands is not rare at all. Be prepared and be mentally strong.
