flop: K 8 4 (pot bit less then $60)

easy spot for a raise. Hes cbetting here a great deal of the time. Hes only coming over the top if he has a monster, so you'll see another card even if he has a high K.

Maybe it's not optimal, but saying it's "baaad" is just stupid, since neither option is bad.

well why take the non-optimal line ever? (w/o any dynamics or w/e)

I'm not joking either, in this spot it might not be terrible, but purely by principle it's bad imo. You should always know why you are doing what you are doing. So what makes you decide when to mix it up here? Or is it just an irrational feeling?

I fail to see how either option could ever be poor, vs an unknown.

I can show that either play is +EV very easily, and since figuring out which play is better requires a ton of speculation about ranges/future actions that we have no idea about, I choose not to waste my time with said speculation, and instead, mix it up.

You have a nut draw in position, with a lot of money behind. Why would you always do the same thing?

so when you are sat in this exact spot what decides what you do? flip a coin? (not that that's a bad thing if you think both are as good as eachother)

vs unknown raising is the clearly superior option. I'm suprised why so many people feel differently.

Like do you not see how silly this sentence is? Its like the whole point of poker.

+100$ EV compared to +$50 EV is just as important as +$30 compared to $-20

I know you know this, I just find it surprising you wrote what you wrote

I call, but really think both is good. When you're floating it isn't that obvious that you have a nfd. Since most players would rais (according to this post) you're also building a big pot against an unknown who we don't know anything about which can get us into trouble if we spike don't spike a flush. I like keeping the pot small against an unknown in this spot tbh.

I think both options are good. The real decision is when you have some history with the SB.
