had a fish on the table who opens almost every button 3.5x and an estimated 40% open on CO 3.5x also. He's 80bb deep and he will fire a big c bet (75%) on almost any board.

Now I am looking at 33-77 in the sb and Im really unsure if you can squeeze out a profit here flatting the sb vs these kinds of players. Fwiw BB was some kind of fish on the passive side and my estimation is that CO fish winrate is around minus 80-100bb/100.

Also if it ain't profitable, where do we draw the line for calling? Same fish opening 3.5x 100bb+ deep? same fish opening 3x or 2.5x 80bb deep? Would love some opinions and even more if someone could plug in the math in a preflop solver!

honestly this depends more on the iso frequency of BB more than the opener’s tendencies. if I know BB has a somewhat reasonable squeeze range, SB flatting 22-66 off 80bb effective vs 3.5x gets ugly kinda fast.

for the above reason, the “preflop solvers” you talked about in OP mostly advise 3b or fold from SB vs BTN/CO open.

also the wider someone opens, we ought to be less likely to call with low PP hands that require us to get paid postflop to make flatting pre profitable
