effective stacks 1600
full ring 5 10 cash game 20 button ante
folded to hijack who makes it 35 tight player
hero is cutoff have kts makes it 85
button, sb folds, bb flats, original raiser folds.
info about bb mostly from tournaments because i dont play much cash game it is not much relevant to this hand but he plays too many hands. he tries to be too cute sometimes. for example i watched him shove his stack over a bet where he was not committed at all and at the best scenario he would have like 55 percent equity.
flop t85 rainbow
he checks i bet 75 he insta calls.
turn comes K still rainbow he checks i bet 200 he thinks thinks and calls.
river comes 7 he donks 400
what do you do?

Insta call. Definitely not a raise in the rare case he has a set of 5’s or 8’s. No way he has a straight in this spot. He could be vague betting ak too if he thinks you’re full of it or have something like qq

I like a flat pre but 3bet is good too.

I think it’s a pretty straightforward call on river. I don’t see why he couldn’t have J9 for the straight but he could also be betting a weaker 2 pair or a busted draw. I think we just have too strong of a holding to fold.

With that said, I’m torn on whether we can call weaker hands here. This would be a pretty gross spot with AK or AA. It feels weak to fold those hands but not sure what those are beating besides bluffs. Curious to know what people would do with those holdings?

Here i was gonna fold aa or ak to a river bet, if i had ak would probably check back river so the pot would not be that big.

i thought folding top 2 was not possible. called he has 88. of course he represents only sets but where are his blufs. i asked a friend who plays with him everyday, he said this guy only takes standard lines ( means does not bluff enough) so i could fold here.
if i had aa or ak at the same hand turn i check back river when he bets i decide according to size probably will call up to like 70 percent pot.

Against most opponents I can't imagine them cold calling a 3-bet with J9 or 96, even suited. Unless everyone is super deep and wild that's a TERRIBLE play.
