If I post a list then book a bet after that was action on my list I always assume my action on that game is closed after.

I do usually try to update with a new list but I’m surprised by the majority opinion

I am just going to throw this out there Steve because I know you haven't been here as long as most of us. Have you considered the optics of having 3 controversies in the last 10 days with 3 different regs? I think most if not all of us operate in good faith and I am not saying that you don't either. What I am saying is that when you have 3 different situations that are very very iffy where you are trying to chisel every last dollar out of the rest of us it looks bad.

I don't think most of us have had 3 total issues ever that required voting or people chiming in because most times it gets handled via pm, compromised or one or both of the parties realize that intent matters more than the letter of the law.

I am not saying you haven't had legitimate issues when you have brought them up though. I think all of these things are grey areas we have been muddling our way through for years and some black letter law for these fairly common situations would be better. You are obviously a very positive member of the thread so don't take this the wrong way.

If we are voting my vote is that the bet had action because to my knowledge it has always been action and I can't think of an example where the person who put the want up lost and then later tried to say it was no action. You needed to close your list or at least say something before the game was over at the very least.

I'll say the same thing ryhenicee says every time, if you had won the bet would be you be here vociferously arguing that it should be no action? If you wouldn't be then we have a serious problem.

I hear you wichita. It is not lost on me this is #3, though I am the newest member and clearly there is still ambiguity with the actual rules. I definitely would have called the bet no action which is why I'm a bit fired up. I care little about the actual amount. If you think I "chisel every dollar" then you have the wrong impression of someone firing off 10k+ every week. FWIW I did offer Jaba a compromise and he came back to me with an EV argument.

There has been no evidence of a rule the other way (or discussion of it since I have joined the thread), and everyone says they wouldn't have booked the bet because of "good faith". Jaba's post was right after my booking.

Not a single person corrected my actions the entire time I have been in this thread (I will say overbook confirmed when someone did what Jaba did, or say no action or only good for 100 or whatever). How was I supposed to know any different? And multiple long time posters have already stated they thought along the same lines as me. So definitely a bit frustrating.

I agree with the sentiment here. The rules are basically not explicitly stated anywhere and you can run into situations (like ours the other day) where there either isn't one or it doesn't quite apply to the exact situation. I think there needs to be a google doc started with the rules personally. That would solve a lot of these problems. The problem is most of us are lazy and so have just been dealing with it on the fly for a long time.

With that said if I post team X 500 max and I book it in full with B, I never close my action, and then C books me for another 300, it is my responsibility to quote the $300 bet and say no action before the game. To be polite I’d try to do it ASAP so C has time to bet it again in thread.

If I miss it then I’m on the hook for 800 total.
