Hippias
Laxlex?
Wulfs is the worst regular. Just too passive, easy to read and make big mistakes in big pots. Hes player I would play any stakes any time.

Re: Official pacific poker regulars thread
This may be a temporary fix regarding the crashing issue, ive played about 8+hrs w/o a crash after doing this.
The error i get says something about too many rescources being used, heres a way to give it some more juice:
press ctrl-alt-del ---- processes ------- right click on "poker.exe" ------- set priority ------- high ----- accept the popup message.
this is on windowsXP, it may be different for vista, i dont know. Youll have to do this every time you open pacific.

Good tip.
Another thing worth trying is uninstalling Pacific poker client plus removing anything Pacific related from your harddrive (don't delete your player notes file though!) plus cleaning registry. And then re-installing Pacific client. For me that procedure fixed crashing problem. While doing this poker client version changed from p-1-en-0-5.0-5-1 into p-1-en-0-5.0-12-1 and that seems to have a lot of difference regarding stability.

Can you explain a little more how to clean all the register by removing anything related to pacific poker? Keep us informed if it continues to work well with this uninstall/clean/reinstall to p-1-en-0-5.0-12-1 method!

Re: Official pacific poker regulars thread
I had a theory that if you had only 4 tables open that it wouldnt crash. It worked for a few hours until....the ****er crashed on me!!
Getting so fed up of this ****. Its like pacific wanted to save money and got some 12 year old to make the software. Its pathetic.
So hard to get into your A game for a good session when you have to keep resitting down at tables every couple of hours.

I've been playing 8 days without crashes now.
Anyways, here we go, step-by-step:
1. Check out your pacific software version number by pressing F4 in the lobby window. If it is p-en-xxx-5-1, do the steps 2-10
2. Copy your playernotes.ini file somewhere on your harddrive (should be found from my documents\pacific -folder or similar)
3. Uninstall Pacific Poker
4. Search you harddrive(s) for any files including word 'pacific' plus remove anything you might find that looks to have anything to do with pacific poker (including pacific poker -folder in my programs-folder plus cookies plus pacific-folder in my documents-folder).
5. Clean your registry with CCleaner or similar http://www.ccleaner.com/ (I used a different commercial product, but CCleaner is free and does the same job)
6. Download Pacific installer from: http://www.pacificpoker.com/PokerIns...=java&un=false
7. Install Pacific Poker Client
8. Log in and it creates an empty playernotes.ini file in my documents\pacific -folder
9. Copy-paste the notes you have made from your old playernotes.ini file into the new playernotes.ini file
10. Check out pacific version number, if it is p-en-xxx-12-1 or newer, Ur good to go (hopez)
BTW, my p-en-xxx-12-1 seems to have updated itself yesterday, it's p-en-xxx-14-4 now.

Anyway, another thing I'd like to whine about is Pacific's cash out policy. If you live in a EURO-country, you can't cash out in dollars anymore. I live in Finland and opened USD-bank account just for Pacific cash outs but can't use it anymore
And their currency exchange rates are just hysterical, surprise surprise. Anyone else noticed that?
|
Has anyone found alternatives yet? They tell me I can cash out to my USD neteller but when I tested this they double-exchanged me (pacific convert to GBP send to neteler who convert to USD). Their support have been given varying answers since, from 'just ask next time and we'll send in USD to neteller' to 'next time tell us the difference and we'll credit it as bonus'. Is anyone successfully cashing out USD as a UK player?
Pummi81, am I correct in understanding that you were previously able to cashout in USD, but then they somehow stopped it?
Isn't it possible to cashout USD at almost every other site?

Yup, some time early this year they changed their cashout policy so that one's cash out is made in the currency of one's country. So if you live in England, all your cash outs are made in GBP I guess. Of course their currency exchange rates are out of this world, surprise surprise. And of course they changed their cashout policy without noticing customers. It was just one time that I made a cashout in $ and noticed that the sum credited to my $-bank account wasn't nearly as much as the sum that left my poker account (double-exxhanged). Since then I have made all my cashouts to my Euro bank account, but every time I still lose ~5% due to their ridiculous exchange rates. Jesus.

Re: Official pacific poker regulars thread
As for pacific cash out policy, I also made a dollar neteller account especially for pacific poker, then suddenly I tried to deposit some money and it kept declining, I worked out it was because I had transfered $2000 into neteller expecting pacific to take $2000 out of neteller but nope they wanted the equivilent of $2100 or somthing in pounds.

Re: Official pacific poker regulars thread
I play on LuckyAce so this might not totally apply to pacific but I think it's relevant nonetheless. I live in the Netherlands, so we have euro's here.

The first time I deposited at LuckyAce I transferred $2k from my Neteller (account in dollars) to LuckyAce. I received $2k in my LuckyAce account but noticed there was $2060 or something withdrawn from my Neteller account. This pissed me off since there shouldn't be any conversion, and I shouldn't be the one to pay for it. It was pretty obvious to me what had taken place, LuckyAce converts the $2k to 1300 euro or whatever it was and asks 1300 euro from Neteller, which then converts it to $2060. Hence the difference. So I contacted live support.
I talked for like an hour to someone who was pretty clueless. She kept telling me the error lied with Neteller which obviously isn't the case. I kept telling them how their system worked. Sigh. But I guess that's pretty standard.
Anyway eventually I got it sorted out. They added $60 to my LuckyAce account and she gave me the option to change my account to dollars (which is an internal status in their system since there is no euro's at all on the pacific skin), which I did.
Now, I haven't deposited/cashed out since but I think since my account is now in dollars in their system the double exchange fee will no longer take place.

Re: Official pacific poker regulars thread
me and mr qoob decided to do smth about pacific.
We collect names from the regulars @ pacific.
We gotta do smth to get the soft fixed asap.
While this effort could be worthless, its still better to do smth.
Here is the post we are going to send to pacific support soon..
feel free to give your nick and email u registered in pacific with, and if anyone have some more bugs to share, ty in advance.
Hi,
It seems like 888 doesnt care about their customers anymore, considering the latest update
on Pacific Poker' & LuckyAce Poker' software. I think it's safe to say that we're alot of
regulars from 100NL up to 20000NL, who are pretty much fed up with the malfunctions and errors,
that we consistently have. So in order to recieve a new and improved software, we have decided
to make a petition, that we'd like everyone who agrees to sign - so we stand a chance.
So basically, if you can nod your head to some of these situations, sign up;
- Client crashing suddently.
- Tables closing down suddently, without further notice.
- Lag issues in Vista, after 1-3 hours.
- Software doesnt support x64 operating systems. (Meaning you can't uninstall, and reinstall if needed)
- Old software had "players on flop%" stats on lobby, it is removed in the new software, we want it back.
- On 30" monitor with resolution 2560x1600 the table appears too big vertically... Some kind of black line
appears in the bottom of the poker table.
- 10-20k guaranteed Tournaments are not starting very often now. There just comes a message that you got the
signup money back, and thats it. Seems like these are not "guaranteed" tournaments after all.
