Hello,

I'm writing on behalf of MWWWWWWWWWWW.

His account has been hacked today on LuckyAcePoker(888).

We're talking about 86k dollars that has been lost.

What happend was, that I tried to log onto my account, and it said it was disabled.. So I tried to contact live support, and they told me that my account has been self excluded.. So I asked how much there was on the account, and she said 0.

My email account has been hacked, and I'm very very frustrated right now.

So my question is, have anyone seen any weird action on my name in any of the highstakes games today? I havent played since early morning at all..

Please help me, I have contacted Live support, which told me to EMAIL a emailadress, instead of having a phone number so everything would happen instant.. Is this really the best solution for poker players? We're talking about alot of money, which needs to be handled very fast and efficient..

I have no idea what to do, but they say they will contact me within 40hours....

Thx,
MWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Really sad to hear because this can happen to anyone...

Just chated to MWWWWWWWW a bit on msn...guy is really frustated and I fully understand him. I also had my hotmail account hacked few weeks ago and after that I changed all my passes. In luckyace I changed my pass with chatting to live support and then they sent me auto-generated mail with a new pass...hopefully my account was linked with another mail.

Let's hope Yuv and Luckyace support will take care with this issue seriously and respond faster.

Anyone knows how many bonus points to acquire to clear the bonus? And the max time allowed for doing that?

8k points to clear the 1k bonus and the expiry date I have is the 18th June.

I believe to receive the bonus you had to play at least 2 100k tourny's during April(it was bloody torture playing this event!!!!).

Lets hope all will end good and the players will get the money back. And maybe 888 will see now that their security is pretty unsafe. Even if the email was hacked, then 888 should have the verify identity system, that even when you get your new password to your email, you still cannot instalogin with that, but would have to prove your birthday or security question.
And ofcourse the passwords itself are too short and unsafe. And why the password must be exactly 8 characters long ? why not 6-20 or something... I think it would be harder to hack also then.

Okay, here is what has happend so everyone can follow:

MWWWWWWWWWWW & grobuten was hacked today, and apparently the hacked player chipdumped 85k from MWWWWWWWW' account onto grobuten. After this we don't know exactly what has happend. But later the same night, grobut was playing vs a few regulars losing some money, maybe to cover his tracks.

The interesting part of this begins when up 8-9 players were contacted by a the player "eskelly", where he asked about the recent controversy where some frauds wanted to find accomplishes to partner up and transfer 10k, to keep 5k, and give the other 5k to the frauds. Some of these players were e.g leisano, shipgold, growapairplz, pulpfiction, isabrock..

I heard that the whole 888 network of regulars helped out greatly to get this matter to hands, and growapairplz also tricked "eskelly" into confessing to him about the fraud, while 888 supervisors where monitoring the table, to "lock" his account and get him banned.

The question now remains, about how much and if at all MWWWWWWWW will get his money back.

Thanks for everyones help, and if anyone have other updates - let me know.

I have to admit i played MWWWWWWWWW @ 5-10 HU Deep game like 48 hours ago, but i think he has still his account, cuz he was playing pretty standard, not trying to chip dump anything.

I believe it was wednesday, around 3am (Eastern time)

Not sure how MWWWWW's account was compromised, but a couple of things to keep in mind with account security:
- Don't have your screen name as part of your email address.
- Don't have guessable/searchable answers to security questions linked to your email address
- Make sure your backup/secondary email address is just as secure.
- If you use Gmail, make sure you use the https option in settings, and not http.
- Don't tell anyone the email address you have linked with your poker accounts.
- Don't use the email address you have linked to your poker accounts to sign up for poker related services on the net.

As much as people worry about having a super random password, the chance of getting your password guessed by brute force is practically 0%. Unless you are so stupid to have your password as god, love, poker or something like that. Even then, people don't really bother unless you give them a reason to try, like brag how much money you have in your poker account.

As Jorgo said, everyone check your security questions. I was like 13 when I made the hotmail acct that I used for Stars. It was just song lyrics and the response was the following line... I obv didn't play at the time and never thought of it again. Now I have separate addresses for every site, as tedious as that is.

I was very lucky that I only had 2k in there when I was hacked.

Seems like a lot of HS players have had their AIMs hacked lately because of simple security questions too. This would be a good time for everyone to double-check their ****.

Really sorry, MW .

this is because of this ****ing thread that attracted a lot of multitablers. 2/4 is dead already and very common to see 6max with 6 regs.

Another argument for reducing the max open tables limit to 4. Fish don't multitable (2-tabling doesn't count), only regs. Increased limit of open tables only increases the number of hands played by regs between themselves. I can't see how it can be EV+, applying the infamous 888 rake structure, no rakeback, and no loyalty scheme.

Yeah maximum 8 tables really killed the game. But what really kill the games are HU tables I think, just like other sites.
