Has anyone found out about what pacific is going to do about their software crashing daily? Does it make a difference if you play on the new or old skins?
thanks

I play with HEM, and, since 2 days, with the old skin, and for the moment I didn't have any crash... But I had two disconnections, which is pretty annoying, because each time I have to close all my tables, close the grabber, and restart all this stuff. Damn, when will this software works propely?

I created the following as a new post in HSNL but it needs to go here too:

This post is at least 8 months in the making. Some time last year, Pacific ostensibly *changed* their software to prevent ratholing. (e.g. if u leave a table and try to return w/ less, it *usually* gives you a standard ratholing msg making u return with same stack size etc. etc. A large number of players, however, have found a loophole in the software that allows them to rathole shamelessly. They buy-in for 10BB (lol @ pacific for allowing buy-ins that low), double-up and return within 2 minutes with 10BB).

If anyone has played in the Pacific HSNL games recently, they can attest that it is absolutely out-of-control. Far beyond anything you can even imagine or have ever seen on any other site since ratholing-prevention features took hold. There are at least 10 to 15 players who do this for the better part of the day.

I've tried to figure out just how these ratholers do it, and from what I can tell, a 'brute force' approach simply works some of the time >> e.g. just keep trying and trying to sit down with less and eventually the software lets you do it. Still, I suspect these serial ratholers have gotten to the bottom of just how to do this b/c while it takes me sometimes 4 or 5 minutes to eventually force myself in with a smaller stack, they routinely do it within 30 seconds of leaving the table.

1) The fault here lies squarely at the feet of Pacific who, while acknowledging they are aware of the loophole, has done nothing about it in the 8-10 months I've been bringing it to their attention.

2) At first they denied it was possible.

3) Then, after I sent them HHs clearly showing ratholers returning to the table repeatedly just a few hands after they had doubled-up and left, they acknolwedged they were aware of the problem but that it was a very big software problem to fix, bigger than their programmers first anticipated. It doesn't help that Pacific's software is the most bloated piece of crap ever, and that there are about a billion different versions of it floating around since they allow old versions of their software to still work >> there's no mandatory upgrade as with other sites.

4) I have suggested to them repeatedly that if they REALLY care about stamping out ratholing, they could simply shoot emails to the 15-20 serial HSNL ratholers warning them that even though they've found a software loophole to exploit, it's against site policy and they'll have their accounts locked if they continue to exploit it shamelessly. They have steadfastly ignored that suggestion, sending me a steady stream of "we're aware of the problem and looking into it" replies. I have come to the conclusion that they probably are not actively doing anything about this b/c serial ratholers make them a sh:tload in rake.

So where do we go from here?

The only thing I can come up with is a large-scale campaign of email complaints, or more direct feedback via the right channels. (Casinomeister, maybe? He seems to have close contacts at many of the sites.) Unfortunately, Pacific's support is a joke and there's no way of getting anyone english-speaking or intelligent on the phone. If there is support here for getting rid of the ratholers, I'll type up an email that people can fire off to them. Or if you have inside contacts higher-up at Pacific, i strongly encourage you to direct them to this thread. Enough is enough.

Pacific has many more issues to figure out before this issue imo. I think disconnection/crash problem should be their number 1 priority at the moment . BTW can't Pacific hire some decent programers? Im sure they can afford it.

Yeah what's up with lobby not updating?
And when I join the waiting list, it says "you are lucky! A seat just became availabe!" I open the table, and the table is full. I join the waiting list again, and it says "you are lucky! A seat just became availabe!"... I rejoin the waiting list, wait for 15 minutes.. a seat finally opens. I click join now, try to seat, it says "sorry this sit is reserved for another member", and then they put me on the bottom of the waiting list.

what the hell is this??

So i finally got around to importing my PCF hands into HEM, and this i found curious. Are these all the same guy?? I think that i'd noticed some inconsistent capitalizations in Doosh's name before but never thought much about it. It's clear, though, that someone did the above intentionally...I only mine 5/10NL and above, and i don't even have all that many hands. Any theories here???

Yup, same guy. One of the great features of Pacific Poker software is that login name isn't case sensitive. You can make an alias in HEM for those if you want to combine his stats. This will be fixed in HEM soon. Check out this thread on HEM forums: http://208.109.95.123/forum/showthread.php?t=671

Any thoughts on ry83? MinderM just left 50/100 NL with almost 50k. He got most of it from ry. Looks like ry was tilting. He also sits at 100/200 NL waiting for someone to play him.
