hmmm, 2.5months is longer than i'd want to grind 500z exclusively for. but i guess if the odds/action was right i'd take it on. what sort of line would you think would be fair then, 250k hands of 500nlz at 4evbb/100 in 10 weeks?

Recently I have started trading part time in addition to playing poker. And because I know that many poker players are toying with the idea of going into trading I have started a blog which I plan to update every 1-2 weeks or so: Xela's Blog. Also, what samplesize do you find legit at this game? Im not well versed with variance stuff so I would really like to know ur opinions.

got 1,2Million hands z500 in my database (WR ~2,5bb)
4out of the 12 100k-hand samples beat the 4bb/100 goal

taking into consideration that this is a challenge u will play more focused/less tables than me on average (not adding other zoomtables/lots of random midstakes tables) and should have a somewhat higher "true" winrate therefore.

So if my chance playing averagefocused/lots of 8tabling zoom was about 1/3 it should be possible to get up to 50%

I'm not the prob-bettingguy, but if I would I would give myself a 40% chance and selling for those odds (and expect this bet to be +EV for me)


Depends a lot on the time u're allowed to take, because timeselection is a big thing on z500...
If u don't have tough volumegoals u can pick the soft pools and get >60% chance on winning ur bet imo easily

goose core which times in the day do you consider that the z500 pool is the softest?

If any1 offers $ for a challenge of making 4bb at 500z over 250k hands, i'll accept it

I'm confused, are you saying you want to bet against person who is doing 4bb/100 250k hands or are you saying you can manage 4bb/100 250k hands and want to make a bet?

I think it's common sense that 4pm-8pm European Time the pool is super regheavy and really good winrates shouldn't be possible.
the later the night or just in the morning u get a much better ratio. Lots of regs are students imo and are not too flexible with their grinding hours

4pm-8pm is obvious, but i feel more like that the worst hours are 4pm-12 and if you are trying to avoid playing in this period than you do not have much of a life during the day if you want to do proper volume.

If you're absolutely free in setting ur times go for this schedule:
Get up at 5am, play as long as u want to
Have nice lunch and enjoy a free afternoon
go to bed early

These are just times a lot of people all over the world are used to (doing "normal" jobs starting at 6am)

Not doing this myself, but it's absolutely doable and I'm pretty sure u'll have more time for spending with non-poker-related-friends

No, I was saying I'd accept the bet and (try to) do it myself. But I only play when I feel to, and I'm not a volume grinder. so 250k hands in like 2 months is not gonna happen for me, as some1 suggested...

Obviously having to play the hands in a relatively short space of time is a large part of what makes it hard, i'm sure there's a heap of people who could do it over the course of say a year, 2 tabling and only playing when the pool is great.

Anyway, doesn't seem like anyone wants to put their money where their mouth is so I'll give up on this idea.

And I agreed, if u are saying that it should be done at like 1 months or so.. I guess playing 250k hands per month is harder than achieving the winrate in itself
