I can guarantee that your average winrate for 78s over all hands doesn't even come close to 30bb/hand and that's just to break even here.
In this particular situation the risk just isn't worth the reward. If everyone was 3k effective or it was heads up with MP then sure you could argue for a call and I think it would be somewhat more justified. Fewer players would help. Some RIO issues etc if everyone was deeper. But as is just not a profitable 3 bet call.
The original call or 3 bet option would need reads. 3 bet is probably bad because of all the shorties ready to easily jam.
