then you are their buddy and they talk to you and stop by throughout the shift to see how you are doing. then obviously when things come up where you need them to pull for you....they are more likely to do so.
fwiw i've never played at foxwoods but this is how it works in California. i'd imagine its the same in nearly every poker room.
This seems a little over the top, but basically correct. In my experience, just tipping a little better than other regs (more in line w/ the tourists) and tipping whenever they do something for you (like at some places, nobody really tips the chip runners, but obviously you should), coupled with extending basic human respect and courtesy is enough to make everyone who works in the place like you.
HEK, sorry Man. This blows, and I really hope you get re-instated. I think that it's very likely Frankie either explicitly called in a favor or that some staff involved are very friendly with him. Good luck and try to enjoy your holidays.
