I mean sure. I haven't been playing with this villain, so only you can truly estimate what his range(s) are weighted towards/consists of...
I think the fact that you are raising to 12bb pre and he is "calling everything" has some merit to calling him down wider in river spots...
Do you think given villain possibly being more laggy, that he would be 4-betting more Ax hands in the SB? If so, him flatting a 3-bet doesn't necessarily mean that his flatting range consists of more Ax holdings... Thus you can call wider in this spot.
Normally, against just plain jane players that I don't know, I would check back this spot. Their range is weighted more towards Ax that I'm value owning myself against on the river, with fewer 10x holdings, let alone 9x holdings. You with KK, are getting little to no value from those holdings (10x/9x), given your 3-bet pre. You are getting called by some Ax holdings, and raised by better. So...
The times you are getting value here, is not more than the times your river bet gets called and you lose, or get raised by stronger. Sure you could be getting bluffed.
But if you are under the impression villain is getting out of line here or in general, call his ass down. I'm glad you are 3-betting bigger against villain. I like the turn check as well.
