this is a very valid point. i play up to 50/100 but i am currently trying to sell 50% so i can play in the steve harris game. i dont think i would care about playing even 1 more hand if steve leaves.

This happened exact thing happened on a Prima table. The player thought the other guys were colluding against him and I haven not seen him back since.

I was one of the players who sat out and I have since learned my lesson. Unfortunately I gave up a tremendous amount of EV to do it.

Trex and cts would insta sit out when World1969 or w.e would sit out @ 500-1000 cap. It got to the point where he finally asked if they were friends. He didnt leave or anything but it would surprise me to see him give them action again, not sure how much they care or why i posted this but w.e

With the WSOP 2009 pilgrimage just around the corner and the flood of "internet kids" coming in town this thread deserves a quality bump. If this thread's about some specific instances where people were being out of line with how they deal with the fish in some 200/400 game online, then fine but I really don't think it's necessary to make sure that people "don't alienate the fish in Vegas". I mean even at 5/10, there's almost always a friendly cordial atmosphere at the table with no one talking strategy. This isn't exactly a new idea. You'll get a couple cranky nits at 30/60 LHE too, but if you're playing any higher than that, I almost never see winning players berate the fish in Vegas.

ill try to help. heres how people should think of this stuff. YOU'RE THE CASINO (if youre a winner). if any money was to be made by berating your customers steve wynn would have dealers who laughed in your face everytime you stood on 16 v. a dealer 7 or took a hardway bet. the way you make money busting gamblers is by being nice, being stupid, and, if all else fails, being quiet.

do this the next time youre in a game. somebody is gonna say something really stupid, like, ak is a fave over TT ai preflop and YOURE GONNA AGREE WITH THEM. the world will open up to you after this.

Instead of pretending you don't care about being sucked out on, show your emotion but don't be a dick about it and start whining. Basically, don't insult the fish. But don't be too nice either to the point where any intelligent person would notice that it's contrived.

I agree with Viffer's sentiments.

While I don't try and be nice to fish, I definitely like to encourage them to play worse, but sympathising with how "unlucky" they got and how they played perfectly and did not deserve to lose.

Yesterday I was in a juicy game with two uber fish. I was absolutely tilted by the fact that these two young guys, a German pro and a Scandinavian pro, kept on dispensing advice to the fish and explaning the thought process behind the hands, talking about +EV, etc.

Obviously they failed to grasp that the LEAST +EV thing they could do was to provide free coaching for the fish at the table.

There was one pot where an uber fish lost like over $5k of his $10k stack with Q4 on a board of Q4J, to the other guys QJ by calling big bets on every street.

Fish (distraught): For f*cks sake

Me: You were very unlucky. I think you actually played really well, you lost the minimum. Had it been me, I would have raised on the flop and got it all in. Well done, the money you don't lose is the same as the money you win.

Smart-ass: What were you doing calling a raise preflop with Q4o anyway

Fish: Since that last pot I lost, the luck has changed totally, I can't win a pot anymore

Smart-ass: Don't be results oriented. It's a long run game
