Its good to know that we all evolve and go through the same processes. Very good post, not only adds but reaffirms my most recent revelations about the game.

Though I'm not a high stakes player, I've been through a lot of these epiphanies. My personal favorite, though, is the laziness and results-orientedness (thnk God I'm not posting this for Comp 101!) that most poker players experienced in college and at the tables.

Despite all of the hoop-la, playing basically straight and smart is still the best way.

Solid content. Solid humor.

Why o why can't I have this problem w/ #4? I've been doing this for work for 3+ years and my subpar work ethic and aversion to submersing myself completely in the game have cost me dearly both in my development and my bank account. I'm kinda jealous of the obsessed, although I must say I am a big fan of my life outside of poker, which is some consolation.

19/17 tags mean that most of us play 19% of the hands and we raise 17% of hands we get.

TAG= tight aggressive

The 19 above is our vpip voluntarily put money in the pot; the 17 is how much we raise pre-flop.

Both numbers when seen like above correspond with poker tracker or holdem manager.

This post was one of the best I ever read; thank you very much op
