good post ae, like others i agree that each milestone happens but not necessarily in that order, and those certainly aren't every milestone.
im working on the "get back into playing after an extended break" milestone right now

regardless, gl and i like you more now

sick post. I don't think AE should be bashed here for writing it "out of order" because I think the milestones come in different order for everyone. AE kind of touched on that when he said our minds are all different due to backrounds, etc.

ae, I remember playing 10/20nl with you at PCA last year. You seem to have grown tremendously since. In this past year you have become on of my favorite posters and an overall great contributor to the strategy forums. Thanks for the contributions. They have definitely helped towards my advancement as a player. I wish you well in your progress. You'll be beating the nosebleeds in no time, imo. GL at PCA.

i havent read the responses yet so i dont know if this has yet been said, but i dont think these milestones are necessarily linear. each one is definitely extremely important, but personally i felt i reached a lot of these realizations at the same time (and some of them im still realizing). great post, we need more of these in MSNL.

very good post ae. i identified with just about all the milestones you talked about. i've definitely passed or am passing through through them and it's interesting to see how just about everyone who makes it far in this game goes through very similar paths.

also, this quote was excellent. so true on all parts

This is a good post, i dont post here a lot. i do lurk a bit. But here are a few things which i think should be considered.

There are 2 epiphanies ive had, which i think are equally important.

1) losing all respect for money when you play poker... you cant be a successful poker player if you worry about losing $x because your read dictates you should bluff a large portion of your stack.

2) people do not concentrate enough, they go on autopilot and do not develop reads on people, they do not analyze betting patterns, they do not focus... this leads to them not really dveloping appropriate reads... and as a poker player you are not simply analyzing betting patterns but you should be able to visualize your opponents hands... not only when you are involved but especially when you arent involved... online players do not utilize hand histories from a hand that was just played by different people enough.

sillygooser, i guess i failed to mention that there are baby steps in order for you to comprehend this

milestone #0.5: they usually put the fold button on the left hand side.

there would be an outside chance you would be a winning player if you knew that milestone

Let me just say that I aint going to be inviting you over to my house anytime soon for Christmas because this was probably the stupidest present I've ever received (if you want to even call it that.) I got **** this year too. I tried reading the first part again and it's plain to me that you are just trying to sound smart. I see right through you bud.

it's plain to me that you're not smart enough to even try to sound smart. embarrassing, wouldn't you agree?

although he will not accept, i will pay him 5 cents per hand if he guarantees me 10k hands of 4 tabling hu for rollz, with a guaranteed amount that we escrow.

if you will play me 10-20, i will pay you 7.5 cents per hand, if i'm guaranteed like 6k hands or something
