He knocks on the door, and my roommate answers the door. He says "You know why I'm here, wheres Doug?", to which my roommate responds with "He isn't in Las Vegas right now." He tells him to call me immediately.

I look down at my phone and see my roommate calling me. I answer and hear the response "Here's Josh". Josh then gets on the phone and opens the conversation with a sarcastic "Hey buddy". He then proceeds to tell me how this is absolutely ruining his life, and talks to me for the next 5 minutes about his side of the story (which is outlined in his post in the thread. I tell him that I cannot do anything for him at the moment, but will give him a call the following day regarding my decision on how we should continue.

Over the course of the next day I discussed the situation with some of my close friends. I decided that should Josh be innocent (in my estimation, that was unlikely, however not impossible), I should give him the opportunity to fix the situation. I then called him the following day. I said that I was wiling to work with him on this issue, as long as he would agree to two terms. The first term was that he needed to agree to not show up at my property without my permission again. The second term was that I needed him to be willing to provide me with documentation and information that I would deem necessary to prove his innocence. I asked I'm do you consent to these terms, He said yes. I told him that in exchange I would edit the title to show he is working with me, make a clarifying post within the thread, and call out some of the direct attacks on him that were unsubstantiated. We got off the call, and I felt that we were making some small steps in a positive direction.

I had a flight directly following our conversation. Once I had landed, I received a very lengthy text from Josh. The cliffs of the text were in essence "I do not agree to those terms anymore, unless you remove the post immediately, as it is already doing too much damage." and "If you do not take this down, as you have ruined my life I will make it my mission to ruin yours, and that's a promise". Since then we have had a few texts back and forth, but nothing substantial and his position is that he will not prove his innocence as I have already done far too much damage to his image.

In light of recent events (Michael Drummond, Blitz, etc), it seems increasingly likely that Joshua is responsible for these hackings. I further encourage the community to band together to shed additional information on Josh, and to further this information to those in relation to him.
any further updates since this one, doug?

I was cheated too by his khankang and forbidden accounts after he stayed at my place early 2012 for 5 figures that I know about. Stars aren't refunding cos there's no money left in those accounts.

just a quick note on a post that caught my attention..

this is wrong thinking. not posting will not make he problem go away and we can safely assume that there are smarter scammers out there who are doing XYZ right now, so there is nothing to hide.

actually not posting will take away pressure from sites and players to ramp up security, so it is highly counter productive to not do so.

this is some of the most flawed logic i've ever seen, not to mention completely laughable.

Josh stayed at my place early March 2012 for a weekend then I played vs him online on his 'khankang' account. I lost money there and also vs 'Forbidden536' who showed up the same week. Contacted Stars after seeing this thread and they took a month to decide I was in fact cheated by 'khankang' but were unsure about 'Forbidden536' (lol). Sent me the most ******ed hands ever to try and show fairness vs 'Forbidden536' to cover themselves for not refunding me when they apparently investigated before and decided not to refund I guess. Not getting any refund at all even though they said 'khankang' cheated me since there's no money left in the account now.

Don't know if the money lost vs those 2 accounts is the total I lost vs Josh, may well have used other accounts and stole a lot more than I know about.

khankang is 100% Joshua Tyler as I'd transferred money to him on that and spoke on Skype to organise playing vs him HU on that account.

One of the hands they sent vs Forbidden was him calling a 3bet 250bb's deep vs my AA then checking back the flop and folding the turn when I flop an ace. Definitely means he was playing fair.

Lost faith in their security team for sure.

So was the new evidence ever verified? Its events like this that keep me leaning closer to live poker more than online.

Apologies not a top pro but always keen for some help and advice

Every post I have seen on here has commented on the player and tracking the players accounts.

Surely a simple credit check into the associates / acquaintances of the player and tracking funds transferred would be a starting point. Look at friends, family etc.

I assume that PS would log the mac address of each machine (identify the mac addresses used by yer man) and every other ID used on those mac addresses.

The difference with mac address is that it identifies the actual computer. And it is therefor very unlikely that anybody other than Josh would have played on that computer.

Now if any of you guys would like to help me with tips that would be cool

Doug, how about doing a v blog on this case breaking it down with a reasonable conclusion and all the other famous scams in poker? (Mariofiti case first one springs to mind)

post in this thread - If Joshua Tyler has been around poker for years and knows about HU online poker play, why would he play in such a fashion that makes his opponents suspicious that he can see their hole cards? Surely he could play a more believable style without tipping off his opponents. I understand this may be since he always had limited time in WCG's house, but it comes off as pretty greedy/stupid.

later post in this thread - Good point can't believe I didn't think of that. Certainly seems *really* odd. Then again, it seems like super users never do it very intelligently at all. Maybe pretending to be a big fish was his genius (terrible) idea for deception? Still weird though since thats pretty dang stupid instead of like... super using a few key hands an hour and otherwise just playing normally.

Yeah, it's the greedy ones that get caught. Think about how many people have stolen money slowly over the course of 5-10 years from a decent sized group, maybe just a couple of poker houses. It might be more people than you think, and it might be for way more money than you think. Interesting to think about, also quite maddening and quite sad.

Such an epic story! Best part was the "I'm innocent rly" post by Josh, spoken like a true politician.

Good job finding out Doug!

I'm actually amazed if this Josh character is still walking.. being all healthy and ****. Where I'm from, facts presented in this thread would be more than enough to cripple/off the guy. I mean, you get what you order right. I can understand if one doesn't want to get his hand dirty but there are people who would **** guys like Josh for free almost.
