Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata? Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata?

08-13-2006 , 09:51 PM
For those who play at the 10-25 NL game at Borgata, who do you think is the best player there?

Contenders:
Troy
Mike
Wayne
Boris
Rocco
Heath
Others?

Ok this is getting kind of ridiculous.
08-13-2006 , 10:20 PM
lol. rocco? wtf?

General rule: If they live and round at the borgata, they are not the best. Is mike the kid with glasses and a hat, young kid, wears polos?
08-13-2006 , 10:27 PM
Mike is the guy who wear a worn out Phillies hat. Some people call him Lehigh.
08-13-2006 , 10:27 PM
yeah, always buys in with big chips and is pretty quiet. oh yeah, he's a nit too, right?
08-13-2006 , 10:57 PM
Based on the fact that he wears a Phillies hat, I am going to guess that he practices bad game selection.

He definitely tends towards the nitty side, but he's probably not as nitty as you think. I've seen him make some big calls based on strong reads as well as the occasional big bluff.

It's gotta be Ed the mail man.

Just kidding.

There's at least one guy that springs to mind as being one of the best there who's not on your list... I think his name is Jason? Relatively young, very aggressive, very good, very successful in that game.

Or maybe it was "Sean"?

i played there once.

lol, I've never sat 10/25, but Rocco cannot be one of the best players unless that game is super soft.

Who is that guy anyway? I sometimes hear people at the Borg talk about him. Doesn't he have a bracelet or something. (Just wondering, I don't play high stakes).

He's exactly the kind of guy who would look like a Rocco - wrinkled face, slicked back grayish hair. Probably in his early to late 60s. He's a solid player from what I've seen at 5/10, but I've also really only seen him play his own cards - that kind of style just can't make him one of the biggest winners.

I think I know exactly who is he. Back in the old room I ate with him when all the other tables were full, nice guy. He does look like a Rocco, he looks like he could be on the Soprano's.

Would Rocco be the type of guy to try to re-buy in for more than the max at 5-10? And when questioned about it knock over his stacks and make a big mess so no one can count how many chips he has? The guy I saw do this fits the description of Rocco.

[censored] that guy. huge dbag.

The only bracelet Rocco could have is one that he bought to match his two giant pinky rings . . . and he makes mild angle-shooting moves like the one Keyser Soze described frequently . . . the guy is not a "nice guy" . . . more of a scared angling nit who plays 10/25 when he believes that its a fish fest; otherwise this guy sticks to 5/10. FWIW, I think Mike (with the Phili hat from 1980) is the best regular. Mike is TAG, but anything but a nit; I've seen him make +EV big moves such as raising a $6K pot-sized river bet to $20K on a bluff.
08-14-2006 , 09:53 AM
yeah, rocco seems like real sonofabitch.

saw him cheating a long time ago when the 5-10 was capped at 1k. he was getting quarters from another player at the table and sliding them into his stack bc there were some fishies who had 2-3 buy ins.
08-14-2006 , 11:01 AM
Yeah, I know Jason Griffin. A very good agresssive player. I would put him up there.

I don't think Mike is that good. I seen him pay off big hand too often.

I vote that Troy is the best player at the 10-25 table. He has amazing reads. He is constantly a winner at the table no matter his opponents.

Rocco is the guy who always try to sneak extra chip at the 5-10 table although he has not done it recently. He's the guy who chats it up with the fishes so that he can take their chips.

PACHENGA MENGA!

in my limited experiences there the borgata regulars are generally uncreative, boring, nits. rocco is a huge nit who misses value bets like its his job. that big guy with the red hair they call red is a solid/standard player from what i can see. i have more respect for a lot of the crazy commerce players because a) they are more fun to play with and b) they have fun and are more creative.
08-14-2006 , 01:20 PM
Ha ha, I saw Rocco angle a guy on a collection pot - one guy put up all the money for time, but was supposed to get it back from whoever won the collection pot - Rocco won it, then gave some silly-ass reason why he shouldn't give him the money back like 'I'll get the next one'.

I was pretty sure he was stuck - wouldn't surprise me if he only pulls these sorts of things when down money.
08-14-2006 , 03:46 PM
i never play in time pots when in a nitty game. they are all folding and never paying a time pot and i am raising alot and stealing pots and paying every [censored] time pot.

Ian is a really good limit player. is he any good at NL? seems like a lot of the limit regs switched over to NL recently (3 months ago)
