No stats and only played one hand with V in the orbit before this. Hero in BB, V in SB 3x open 84o and Hero calls. V cbets flop and turn with air before shutting down on river.

hh is confusing. I assume button bets $.08 and not the SB as shown. Shove.

definitely looking to call here. and based on the last hand, a ten or a nine might be enough to put you ahead. id call hoping to a hit a flush or eight, probably looking to bluff turn if i miss. if a ten or nine comes, i'd look to check call. definitely too much equity to fold flop

+1

I'm 3-betting PF (not that cold-calling is necessarily bad), I'm c/r'ing flop with a crazy amount of equity, and we might as well shove OTF because all of our options are pretty gross OTT when we don't shove and miss our draws.

It's still a little awkward because we don't have much fold equity when we shove flop, and we're probably only sitting around ~43% equity against his calling range and so our shove isn't for value either, but it seems better than the alternatives. If we're planning to call flop and c/c blank turns then we might as well shove flop to utilize any potential fold equity; if we're planning to call and flop and c/f blank turns then we're often giving up something in the range of 25-30% equity after bloating the pot.

Additionally, if we call and hit then villain might slow down on turns that complete the flush, so I guess there's that to consider too.

I think I actually prefer a coldcall pre this deep with BTN. So annoying when we 3bet and have to fold to a 4bet.

I was a bit wary of shovelling in 200bbs when there's every chance V could call with a hand which dominates us, but I plugged the ranges in and realised that V would have to be playing too many FDs badly and then calling them off for this shove not to be good. Especially considering the FE I imagine we have against overpairs when we 4bet shove.

I missed that we were 218BB deep. Whoops. Gonna blame it on the wonky hand history.

I think I like shoving more now -- I imagine we actually have some fold equity 218BB deep vs. 100BB deep.
