Recently I started playing in a home game where the blinds are 5-5 but theres a mandatory button straddle of $15 some player go as high as $50. Game plays much bigger than 5-5 obviously because of this button straddle. great game,great action...My question is am I better off doing the minimum of 15 or should I go bigger like 25 or 50...Its a loose game...I know theres probably alot more info u would need to give me an educated answer...what do you think I should button straddle for? I would think higher makes sense, dont I want to play bigger pots on the button? Of course Im folding alot cause people raise 4-8 times the straddle, huge game with alot of clueless players. It is mandatory 15 and when players tilt...it does go as high as 100. Thoughts? Thanks guys.

How deep are you and how deep is everyone else? What's the "average" straddle? What's your guess as to your edge in the game? Even on the button it's never really good to put in money blind if you don't have to.

Obviously straddle to participate socially in the game, garner action from worse players, and help hide from rec players you are there to play seriously. That's why I asked about the average straddle - gives you an idea about how other players feel about the straddle as a social part of the game.

Be careful of home games, I frequently played in a underground game at college and years later I found out there was massive collusion going on in the game.

With that being said it sounds like a great game- my advice would be to try out both options and see what you like more.

With fishier V's in the blinds maybe straddle for a little more and with tough V's in the blinds maybe straddle less
