What was your thought process going into this hand?

You invested 22% of the effective stack size preflop with 87c... Lol. I'm interested in your thought process here... How does 87c, fit into your 3-bet range/4-bet flat range in the bb? I can think of a myriad of better hands I could be flatting with. I could see 87c fitting into a 3-bet fold range.

I mean you are getting 2.7:1 when flatting the 4-bet which means you should be folding the bottom 27% of your range in theory. (we could break this down further) However you probably have a wider BB 4-bet range of possibly 25% so that leaves your 4-bet flatting range being the middle 50ish% of hands here (theoretically)... So if basic pot odds was your logic, then maaaaybe i wouldn't be as concerned with your play but the fact that 22% of your stack is now in the middle with 87c, that is simply not +EV long term. Even comparing 87c to the weakest parts of villains 4-bet range you can see its gonna be a rough one. You could make the argument that you were taking an exploitative line here, but I'm not gonna buy it.

However, as played, you pretty much got the best flop, turn, river that you could ask for. Villain having Ace high is really the only thing that you beat in this situation but a typical 4-bet range is weighted heavily with pocket pairs 9's+ and Ace-x combos in the SB.
So running the math simply on the value portion of villains 4-bet range, he has Ace high roughly 50% of the time and has you beat the other 50% of the time...
Turns and rivers that contain queens, kings, 10's or aces you're gonna have to bail... So I am happy that you stacked off with villain given the run out though your gonna be beat by 9's+ probably 2/3's of the time... If you folded, I would argue that you would be being exploited. If your gonna call pre with junk and your given the best flop, turn, and river you could hope for, not going to the river simply isn't an option.

Theory and math wise long term, in a vacuum, not super stoked that you are investing 22% of the effective stack size with 87c in a 4-bet pot...

As played I'm glad you had the gusto to stack off on this board.

He has nothing when he checks turn, any overpair/draw ships. River changes nothing.

Flatting a 4bet ~100bbs deep with 87s is a leak. Tighten up your bvb range
