5/10 8-handed, 90 BB eff.
Villain on the button is tight and straightforward

2 fold, Hero opens $30 with 7 9, 2 fold, BU calls, 2 fold

Flop 2, 8, 8 ($75)

Hero bets $50, BU calls

Turn Q ($175)

Hero bets $130, BU calls

River Q ($435)

Hero bets $240...

The turnbet took me some time and Im not sure how much I like it afterwards. I'd like to hear people's thoughts. A check would be fine imo because villain will cbh most of the time.

I don't really like it....If he folded here it's probably because the river counterfeited his small pair. If he has 99/TT he's never folding after getting here like this. Check>calling is probably better than this tbh.

On the river I failed to realize that 9-high may be the best hand. I only noticed that about half of his range just got counterfeited. So I fired a small bet to make some pocket pairs fold. Bad poker, I guess.

After reading AAs post I like c/c on the river a lot. What a c/r would accomplish I dont understand.

Also I'd still like to know what people's default on the turn would be.

I'm not sure c/r river is the best but it would accomplish some pretty nice things. For one he prolly vbets 99-JJ if he got here like this and would have to fold to c/r. He would also arguably fold 22 or any A high hes vbetting.

C/c seems bad because he turns busted K high or J high FDs into a bluff and owns you.

Does he call turn with a FD? And if he does (I doubt it), wont he cbh A or K high on the river? A vbet with those would be bad imo.

I think if you bet the turn you kinda have to bet the river, with the amount of draws their are, but that said i think because most of his made hands are checking behind that a c/r >> then a bet

Is b/f his line with TT/99? Would we go for a c/r if we were full on the river?
