Why does this mod get to close my thread? Why does this mod get to close my thread?

I'm guessing that you are wrong and he didn't lock it solely for disagreeing with your strategy, but rather that he locked it because (i) you started the thread out being condescending as hell and portraying yourself as an expert who is willing to help teach all the other posters who are way below your skill level when none of the other posters consider you to be such and (ii) he believes you are trolling. Again, the foregoing is a guess as I don't frequent that forum much and I don't really recall seeing posts of yours in the past. So maybe there is still some reason to ask him why he locked it.

Also, check the turn. Having a "feeling" that your opponent is on a draw is not a good enough reason to bet 3rd pair of 4's with no draw OOP on the turn.

FWIW, I probably would have bet even less than what you did on the flop ($20 maybe).

Also, pre-flop raise is probably too big ($15 or maybe $20 if this is one of those live tables where people call way too much or maybe even just fold if it is one of those live tables where they call way too much, but from your description everyone seems to be playing nitty so I assume not calling all too much pre-flop).

I don't need you critiquing me in this forum first of all secondly you are wrong. Betting my hand because I have a "feeling" is plenty of reason. I don't know what game you are playing but I know what I'm doing. I don't need any help with my sizing your just flat out wrong. First of all I'm at the table so for you to just dismiss my feel as something that has no weight is just absolutely ridiculous. I'm mixing up my sizings preflop. I play much more aggressively than you probably do so betting my pair on the turn makes a lot more sense for my style of play. Try to wrap your head around that before just assuming that my play is incorrect. For your weaker more passive style of play then yeah checking that hand back on the turn makes more sense. Consider having better live reads and the courage of your convictions to make whatever move felt right at the time and then maybe my play makes more sense. I'm not some noob betting third pair for no reason on that turn dude. My mistake isn't the turn it's the river. The only reason to check that turn is when I expect to face a lot of raises in that spot which I didn't. I'm running people over and they are just laying down in front of the steamroller.

I accept that my post comes off as condescending though it's about a hand that I ultimately made a big mistake in and wanted to see who could spot it and educate those who couldn't. Whatever though I'm a giant Deutschbag.

with a response like that about a hand he was hoping to generate discussion on, then jumping on someone who is discussing it, i can see why the thread was deleted.

It's a shame because this is one of the most interesting hands posted in the forum at the moment.

People like outdonked and this guy getting banned or posts deleted is a shame because most of us who use the forum are recreational players. This is not the place for pro poker players, Doug Polk notwhithstanding.

I'm not sure how a "pro" would play this hand but everyone can disagree on the flop bet sizing. I'm not sure it matters much what the flop sizing is as much as the flop+turn sizing. It may not matter if you bet 25 on flop and 80 on turn, or 40 otf and 60 ott. they might be equal.

I personally dislike turn size after the flop size we used. I go 80

Venice10 obviously is not playing poker these days. It's a shame we can't have mods that ACTUALLY PLAY POKER.

I'd say it's a shame we have users with 5 posts complaining about internet forum moderators poker playing ability.
