There’s a mod who gets a kick out of bashing God and Christians. I realize this type of bigoted harassment is tolerated here for some reason but why can’t I block his posts so I don’t have to read them? Surely, it wouldn’t take away from his mod “powers” and abilities to ban me, delete or edit my posts, etc. I just don’t want to deal with his childish games.

People who believe in god(s) are stupid, the sooner you learn this the better. The mod you're referring to, is doing you a favour in trying to set your crazy mind straight.

What did the mods say when you mailed them? Mods maybe should think about they can't be ignored. Interesting case.

Do you really need the software to block their posts? Could you not just use your will power to skip their posts and go on to the next post?

When I’m engaged in a conversation in a thread, I read the posts. I shouldn’t expect to be insulted and degraded for my spiritual beliefs.

I asked them in the thread why religious bigotry was tolerated and the mod just laughs it off and turns the harassment up.

Problem with harassing beliefs is you also harass persons. Even if you "objectively" could be right.

I believe the reasoning is that some mods post messages for members. Examples would be asking for a derail to end and people to get back on topic, to seek feedback for potential changes, etc. The effectiveness of such messaging would be greatly diminished if an unknown number of posters never see the posts.
