Madlex, thank you for at least touching on the substance of my post.
First, I have a genuine concern for the way young people have been treated on this website and that included me. I can list plenty of examples. I think IÂ’m speaking for a large group of people who donÂ’t post here now. I just wish that so many young people were not treated badly on these forums.
I am someone who wants to see two plus two move in the right direction. I would in general agree that young people have moved away from message boards like this one and towards Reddit, Snapchat , and Twitch. However, I donÂ’t think thatÂ’s the full story, there are tons of successful forums that have lots of young people on them, and I think the site can be redisigned to attract a newer broader audience and hopefully have less trolls.
I donÂ’t think what I wrote is offensive. Like I said IÂ’m in my 30Â’s and do not see myself as part of the group of people IÂ’d like to see two plus two move towards. In other words IÂ’m getting old and think I should take a back seat let alone people much older than me. IÂ’ve often wondered what 2p2 culture would be like if instead of constantly bein trolled by people who have been using message boards for 30 years, we just let 90% of the posts be by people in the 18-28 year old range and see what kind of legendary posters and inside jokes and memes they make on their own. My guess is it would be friendlier to women, lgbt people, young players and in the long run become something I would enjoy reading more than what I’m reading now.
