I'm obviously not an expert at this stuff, but it seems like this should be pretty simple to do. Apparently it isn't as he is still posting the same exact wall of nonsense every single time.

I don't mind reporting it, but when that is necessary on four or five consecutively opened threads as happened today the situation has entered the realm of ridiculousness.

I have reported it and they are trying. In this instance it's not quite as simple as you think. You see how he put a space in his email address?

I granted that it apparently wasn't as simple to fix as it seemed (to me) that it should be. It's just annoying as hell and it is something that, to my knowledge, hadn't been a problem on 2+2 in past years. Just sayin'.

Some quick way of seeing new posts in threads you have recently posted in.

I guess subscribing is supposed to accomplish this but I don't want to subscribe to every thread I post in.

My method now is to click on my own profile and look at my recent posts to see if anyone replied to them. Very inefficient.

anti spam is often where a shocking amount of resources go because it's very difficult to enforce without disrupting normal activity ie we block or censor his email or posting style and he just gives the bot a slightly different phrased script and new email and now forever when someone posts and happens to check those same boxes that legacy anti spam code kicks in and censors them

for example, new ownership have removed banner ads and yet didn't fix the legacy code as all posts mentioning ******* A*D*B*L*O*C*K are still censored

How about:

a) User's first post(s) are hidden until a mod sees they're a legit poster and greenlights them. I don't know what sort of level of new accounts we actually see these days, but I wouldn't have thought it would be overly intensive on mods?
b) We use some sort of fuzzy logic to compare the first 2-3 posts by a new account, and if the posts are too similar they get automatically suspended pending review? Sure, you might get the occasional guy posting nothing but "LOL ARSENAL" being caught in the crossfire, but I would think that'd be the exception rather than the rule for most legitimate posters?

seeing a lot of newly minted "experts" on the site with badges and credentials and it looks absurdly astroturfed and it's really hard to take the site seriously when it moves in this direction - especially when you see how laughably astroturfed the short deck forum is with those new accounts all either run by the same person or are a stable that joined together

what made this place so great was that it was a place where the cream rose to the top, now we have brand new accounts with "x expert" undertitles doling out questionable wisdom at microstakes threads all while trying to push everyone off site

really sad this site has become a landing page for a select group of people who never used the site before last december

Hi Gregorio. CoachCoixdog6+ is a guy I found to start helping 2+2ers with ShortDeck. He is a winning player at ShortDeck, I believe he used to play Spin&Go and was able to successfully transition to ShortDeck.

The idea to start SD forum was mine.

CoachCoixdog6+ has asked one of his friends who is also a winning SD player to help him out , so currently there are at least 2 somewhat knowledgeable guys ready to answer some SD related questions, give feedback on HH reviews.

I've noticed the way 6+ forum is organized right now is a bit weird and the reason for that is probably CoachCoixdog6+ is treating it more like a Discord server than a 2+2 forum. I'll probably address this issue after I recover from Covid

Short deck forum sounds like a good idea. Perhaps it could be announced or get added to the feed. I'm using the old skin where it doesn't appear on the sidebar, so I may not be the only one who didn't know the forum exists. Hope your symptoms aren't that bad and you have a quick recovery!

Ok. So I think I'm out of the woods with Covid, although brain fog is a real thing If you ask me what's 2+2 I might take half a second to answer 4 or even a couple seconds to answer the forum

I've just taken a look at our ShortDeck forum, fixed all of those threads that looked like they are from Discord, I've also noticed that people were referring to them as Channels))) I was also quite surprised to see that a lot of posts had the same IP addresses which is less than cool.
I've explained to those who posted from the same IP addresses that this is not how we do things on 2+2 and it's not allowed (There is of course some small chance that people simply share a router). Also, I've tried to convey an idea that there is actually no problem if one person just asks questions and answers his questions and basically has a monologue, so hopefully things will change. If not I might just close that forum temporarily.

I consider myself one of the best short deck players on that webbernet thing. I won't coach you or give you any advice, I will however encourage you to play the game, preferably against me.

I'm not sure who did what, but it was a pleasant relief not to encounter a single spammy post from that turd on my travels through the Sports threads this weekend.

Some of the 'microstakes NL coaches' are legit terrible. Close to zero understanding of the game.

Can we increase the size of the PM box from 1000? Some of us in POG use them for sending messages for games, and it can get quite full, and I don't want to have to curate/backup my messages. Most people probably don't store that many, so it probably would have little impact on disk usage.

this is a bug where the person shares a link that gets shortened by the site for visibility reasons but in the process of doing that literally cuts the url length in addition to the display link

it's not common but it happens enough where you see it occasionally like here
