It looks like some kind of honeypot intended to catch spambots, maybe redirecting them away from the real site?

There is also some plan, I think, to eventually upgrade the forum software. Maybe they are using that as a sandbox -- and populating it with a bunch of spambot posts -- to test run the upgrade.
