For the sake of other 2+2 members who might decide to use the new platform, could you specify some things that you find awful or perhaps things you'd change? I get that you're not going to use it yourself, but negative feedback is often more valuable than positive. It gives us the ability to change things
Appreciate your response and request for feedback. Many others ITT have hit on my biggest issues:
It's hard to give you the benefit of the doubt when the site experience has continued to degrade under your leadership. Who asked for these changes? What is their purpose? Perhaps I missed this, but why not ask for feedback from users before launching?
Aesthetically I think it's a big downgrade. Think it looks overall much less serious and unprofessional. Much more clutter on the screen. Don't like getting rid of avatars or join date / post count, which helped identify posters and their credibility or lack of in the community, something extremely important to this site moreso than most other forums on the internet.
No interest in algorithms controlling what I see, or threads being split up into multiple discussions. This is one of the last traditional message boards left on the internet and I think most users want to keep it that way.
Don't like "likes" visible on posts as I don't think this stimulates good discussion.
Those are my immediate issues after a brief exploration of the new site. Haven't messed with PM's yet which are also obviously extremely important to users here.
