Had my new VPN service that I just got yesterday running when I came to 2+2 this morning and received a message that my IP had been banned and to contact Admin.

I turned the VPN off and all is good but any explanation? Can I not use a VPN here?

The VPN was probably on a spam blacklist and was used to post spam here. You can PM one of their blocked IPs and I can look into it a bit.

VPN is that thing that allowed the guy to play on PokerStars from USA, for example?

A Virtual Private Network is an encrypted way to connect two networks over the Internet as though they were on the same local network.

The technology is often abused to disguise your location. So spammers love it.
