6+ hold em really is separate from Draw & Other Poker (where people have been posting hands). Not sure if people also posting hands in any other forum but now that multiple sites including and especially Pokerstars offer the game, plenty of people will be looking to discuss the game on 2p2. Please make a new 6+ dedicated discussion subforum.

I second this, currently its kinda hard to get that much feedback on hands and such as there's not a ton of traffic over in the Draw and Other subforum.

Have you had this discussion in the Draw & Other Poker forum? If so, what has the feedback been? If not, that's really where this should start. This isn't going to get too far if it's just two guys who want a new forum, and no one in the existing forum is on board, or even aware of it.

How do you envision this drawing more traffic?

We usually split off forums in this manner when there's too much traffic in a given forum, and posts about the topic are being lost among all the others. Splitting an already quiet subforum is often going to result in two even quieter ones.

We actually combined some strategy forums last year. That's not to say we wouldn't ever look at creating new ones, but only if there's a realistic chance it will be a change for the better.

Perhaps a useful addition to the discussion would be consideration of renaming the existing forum.

Draw & 6+ & other poker

Seriously:
Discussion of poker games not covered elsewhere (e.g. badugi, draw, triple-draw, 6+, pineapple)

Some people have been posting 6+ threads in Draw & Other Poker but not getting much discussion because IMO the posters active in that thread aren't interested in a variant of NLHE. They/we are mostly interested in draw games as the name implies. As I said in OP, this is now a mainstream game with a major following and player base live and on sites including Pokerstars. My thinking is such
1) 6+ posts seem out of place in Draw & OP (a little bit of me saying "you kids get off my lawn)
2) if it had a dedicated forum or it was given that 6+ should be discussed in NLHE subforums (6+ is much more related to and played by NLHE players than Draw & OP players), I think it would get more postings and discussion. I'd be shocked if people aren't looking to discuss 6+ but I reckon those people don't know what to post.

Lastly while I haven't combed through every forum, I'd be surprised if 6+ threads haven't started in other subforums too (maybe a mod could check this please). It would be best to make clear where 6+ belongs.

Thanks OP. Downloading the Stars updates. Need to look at what's going on in poker. Maybe we can analyze some hands?

Some interesting points, but none of this really addresses the question. I really think that if you want this to get some traction, you should engage the community in question.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I can't think of any tools mods have to make this search any easier than regular posters, FWIW.

I don't personally play 6+ so my vested interests are twofold:
1) like I said, I want the 6+'ers off my lawn in draw & OP
but much more so
2) I want 2p2 to be a good and active forum so I feel bad for the 6+ posters not getting replies in Draw & OP and also for any hypothetical poster who doesn't know where to go with a 6+ thread. But I guess you're right that if there is a sufficient 6+ community, it will become clear.

In the meanwhile, I will post in the Draw forum if people think 6+ should or should not go in that subforum.
