Has Two Plus Two considered sponsoring members in WSOP or other major tournaments? It seems sponsoring players to wear Two Plus Two hats and patches could help drive additional traffic to the site. I realize it's the most popular poker forum around, but nothing wrong with trying to continue to grow.
Apologies if this is already being done. In the years I've played at WSOP, I don't ever recall seeing any Two Plus Two sponsored players. Just a thought.
I would imagine someone has worn a 2p2 had or shirt at some point.
Years ago I looked into these sponsorships and it was a pretty tough sell for any small or medium business that didn't encompass the entire poker world. They were basically a wide branding play, thus you would see so many Full Tilt or PokerStars ones back in the day.
2p2 may qualify as large enough and they certainly encompass the entire poker world, but post black friday environment in the US doesn't help matters either.
I can see that. But at the same time, there is still ample television and streaming coverage of poker. Obviously, not as large of an audience as 10 years ago but still decent exposure.
Mods get sponsored all the time. Part of the salary/perks. As a group we were all POed when the bottle service stopped after BF...but still a great gig.
But as a group, we all suck as poker players. That's why you don't see us on TV.
Except for a few exceptions, this is not something we normally do.
Our approach has been to spend our money producing top quality products and to stay away from the hype. And for publicity, such as when we bring a new book out, this website has served that purpose. Thus there are many things that some of our competitors do which we don't bother with, and on those rare occasions when we have done stuff like have a booth at The WSOP, our conclusion was that it was not worth the cost and effort.
I don’t think it would be terribly expensive. The patches are cheap so most of the money would be needed to cover the cost of buy-ins. But I would guess a lot of people would be willing to wear a hat or patch for a partial buy-in or even for free.
Could I start a poll in NVG hypothetically asking if people would be willing to do it for free or what percentage buy-in they would want? Just for curiosity?

I did because I figured it was silly of me to ask since it’s purely hypothetical and ultimately meaningless. Meant more for my own curiosity. Plus, I figure it will likely devolve into a thread full of trolls mocking me for making it in the first place per the usual for an NVG thread.
