The Russian forum was in the sidebar before. And before that in the main menue. Now it's in neither.

Reopen it. For internationalism.

I think plaaynde is some sort of Russian spy sent in to distrub and destabilise the atf mod team. Gregorio is showing signs of cracking, and poor bobo hasn't been right in years.

How about some fresh posts? I could run them through Google Translate.

What happened 31 October 2013? Looked at the other international forums. Will all but the German have to go? International forums: great idea with limited payoff, as often is the case. Nice try and gesture though.

Edit: think I'm getting it now. You need the French forum for Canada and the Spanish for Mexico? Neighboring countries. Alaska is near Russia though. Nice there was a time of comradery between the two bigs on 2+2.

Serious answer

The mod was AWOL, and the forum was full of dodgy posts with people asking stuff like how to cheat various sites' ToS, and potential scammers seeking to circumvent the requirements of 2+2's official, and heavily modded, trading threads and marketplace.

There had been no genuine posts in ages when it got shut, and this was about four years ago.

The general marketplace is turning into a Russian forum. Seems to be several posts every day with walls of random russian text as soon as mods clean it up another account has been created and replaced it.

In a forum you need marketplace approval to start a thread which takes 6 months isn't there any functionality to stop 1 day old accounts posting in certain sub forums?

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any reasonable way to automatically look after this issue.

Hopefully this is just a brief fad that passes as they realize the spam here is ineffective, but if it continues to be a problem we could look at some different screening to filter some of this out.
