Folks,

I'm talking with the tapatalk people about a new branded app for the forums. Before I go much further with them I would like to get a list of the issues with the current tapatalk vs. the legacy one some of you have been using for years. Could you take a moment to jot your thoughts (hopefully concisely) about this. Once we have collected enough thoughts I will point the tapatalk people at this thread.

Thanks,

Chuck

The Tapatalk app shows subscribed threads as having unread posts, even if they have been read on the internet, simply for the fact that you haven't read them specifically in Tapatalk. Been a while since I've had access to the legacy app, but I'm pretty sure it didn't have that issue; what was read and unread was consistent between web and app.

Obviously sigs should be disabled.

I didn't like tapatalk due to the adds so I prefer the old app.

I assume a branded app would have ads as well.

The original 2p2 app that I still use has zero ads

I'd still think Morphismus' assumption is the safer one. I'm not involved with the app in any way, but it would only make sense to me that it would have ads.

...after all, you are the Ad Man!

I think the old 2+2 app is perfect except that you couldn't see the reasons a post was edited and sometimes spoilers are wonky.

I just copied apk file from old phone, hoping it works for now!

I use the current tapatalk app. I have no issue with the ads if that supports 2p2. No idea what the agreement is but if they all just support T that would suck.

I use the old Legacy app, and since the forum names were re-arranged, when I press Live Poker then press Venues and Cardrooms, it automatically opens up Tapatalk. Then when I press the link for Venues and Communities, it opens up the page on the 2p2 website within the tapatalk app, but it's the actual website for the forum.

Then I tried it by starting from the Tapatalk app, and the same thing happened. IDK if the IT dept is aware of this but I wanted to let them know via this thread. (mods if this is posted in the wrong spot please accept my apologies (and please move))

I use the legacy app. I can access Venues and Communities from Live Poker just fine. If you access Venues and Communities from Live Poker -> Casino and Cardroom Poker, it will open up a browser because it is a link. The legacy app always opens up a browser for a link.

ok thanks Lattimer it does open it fine when I open it as described. But yes when you go first through Casino and Cardroom poker, it does open a browser. thanks for the info.
