I am interested in football. I would like to discuss it in a light-hearted way instead of being bullied by the clique that appear to be allowed to get away with almost anything. I have no problems in the cricket thread which appears to be run better. As it stands the mod and the posters appear to be unaccountable.
Poker Strategy is a far more popular site than 2 + 2 these days (Alexa 2866 according to Pokerscout, 2 + 2 is shown as 5656) despite the fact that they started later. If you believe that the way these forums are run does not deter lots of poker players from posting on here and finding alternatives then I think you are mistaken. Try asking around the other forums. Anyway I am not asking for massive changes . All I am asking for consistency in the moderation of the football thread.

How about you only post in the pokerstrategy football thread from now on ?

And why wouldn't they "like it" ? If you think that the type of flaming that goes on here routinely improves the image and commercial position of 2 + 2 then I think you are are totally mistaken. Many people take one look at the behaviour that goes on in threads like this and give it a very wide berth. I know loads of them. How much this sort of "customer service" is actually costing 2 + 2 is anyone's guess.

There are forums for these disgruntled former 2+2 posters, you know. I'd suggest you try kipin.net. I'm sure they'd welcome you warmly...

Sigh.
I'd suggest going back and reading the remainder of that paragraph. Some people don't like it here, and on other forums, for a variety of reasons. You can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. Given the number of complaints we get in ATF versus the number of posts on the site, I don't think we're doing a terrible job.

But how many people are there who don't post at all because they see how other posters are treated and don't like it ? I know loads from other forums. You don't seem to accept this from me so I suggest you do some research yourself. I have no doubt that the lax policies here are costing 2 + 2 a lot of money by detering a lot of potential contributors who would buy 2 + 2 services.
Are complainants treated with respect here ? Answering that question might explain the numbers who post their complaints here.
Anyway I am definitely done here it looks like my complaints will remain unaddressed. PM me if you want further details and want to do that.

How many are "loads", and how does this number compare to the 332,000 members we have - 100-150 new members every day.
That's not to say that we couldn't be doing better or should assume we'll always be on the top no matter what we do. But what you're missing, that has been mentioned many times, is that there are different forums for different tastes here. If someone doesn't like the style of posting in SE, they are certainly welcome to check out tamer forums. Of course if they just want to talk about sports, SE is going to be the best place for them, so they'll have to decide if the can handle the style that the vast majority of SE posters seem to be just fine with. If not, I guess they'll post about sports somewhere else.

Re: Sporting Events Mods
On the flip side, can you imagine what having lots of additional members like Cwocwoc roaming free on 2+2 would do to your existing client base?
