Dude, my other post that you quoted had American culture in it. The one where you talked about the BBC poll.

And the larger issue is the point here. SE is run the way the majority of it's citizens want it to be run. You are in the minority. Adapt or move along.

You can whine all you want about how offensive you find that term, or how other cultures might perceive it, but it won't change anything.

I find it offensive when people use the word "gay" to mean silly or stupid. My understanding is that this is fairly common in British culture. If I were to go to a primarily British site, even one that had visitors from all over, would it be reasonable for me to expect everyone else on the site to adapt to my interpretation of the word?

Get over yourself. You aren't important enough to change the entire culture of SE to suit your whims.

How about the mods do their job instead so ordinary non-yobbish, non-homophobic, non-racist etc etc soccer fans can enjoy discussing soccer as well ?

The mods are doing their job, you wanker.

The mods moderate to the standards of that forum. In this instance, the forum standards conflict with your own.

How about a forum for anti-Semites ? Can we have one of those as well ? I'm sure we could find citizens who want that as well. What you are saying is that the house rules don't apply to SE because some football fans tend to be yobbish so the entire culture of the site has been changed to suit their whims.

You think our job is to make this place all roses and rainbows you sir are in the wrong place...

Certain forums do have a tone like that ( the lounge for example) where you might personally might be more comfortable.

While excessive insulting, trolling and other "not nice" things are frowned upon in all forums, forums like SE, OOT, NVG 4L etc have a certain tolerance level.

"you wanker"

If that's your standard you are bang on. My standards are higher than that.

Well then you are simply too high brow for SE, AND YOU SHOULD IGNORE IT OR MOVE ON.

Why do you so badly want to post in a forum that clearly dislikes you so much? The internet is a big place. If you don't like the way one part of it is run, there are many more options out there for you.

Also, is yobbish a real word?

I don't think the yobs should be allowed to rule the football on here. I'd like to discuss it sensibly without the abuse, bullying, racism. homophobia etc etc. I don't understand why they are exempt from the house rules that apply to everyone else everywhere else on here. And yes yobbish is a real word.

The yobs don't rule the football threads. The threads on footy are pretty polite and there's a communal atmosphere where everyone makes fun of everyone else and no-one takes it seriously. Seems much better than some of the other sports threads. Probably because we have no Greer level morons.

That you are treated differently, as I explained already to you in post 35, is because you're the very worst poster in the football threads apart from that Dutch moron we OTBAC twice a week and those who haven't already put you on ignore think you're a complete moron. You can solve this problem by stopping posting in the manner of a complete moron and then they will have nothing to insult you about.

The post you linked to "Someone please make a spascwoc containment thread and don't let him post anywhere else." in the Euro 2012 thread does indeed break sporting forum rules (specifically rule 3) and the poster should be warned/infracted for it. SethyPoo did indeed warn him for it here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=1367 This is not to your satisfaction?

Also, as you are a horrible horrible poster, let me help you understand why this quote below happened:

Leads to this intelligent and considered response where because he disagrees with you he's a racism apologist. An intelligent and well thought out post which would in no way inflame anyone reading it with its stupidity.

You see, this is a pretty bad generalisation/insult/personal attack on your behalf too.

Hoopie1 disagreed with traveller advice given to the people by the British government. That surely makes him a raging racist, homophobe and antisemite (what?).

Calm down, dude.
Common sense. The mods seem to have forgot to infract you twice as well for your personal attacks. Why are you exempt from the house rules that you want everyone to live up to as well?

And then we get that post calling you a spascwoc and it's incredibly understandable how someone who has to read your posts on a regular basis would make it after yet another dumb derail from you.

So, again, the solution is post better.

Also reading the rest of that Euro2012 page every single poster agrees that you're over-reacting or wrong, an idiot and should be banned and you've done this more than once. This should be a pretty subtle hint that you are awful/everyone else on 2+2 is a racism apologist.*

* delete as appropriate.

Again, why are you so set on having your soccer discussions on that forum when it clearly does not want to operate as you would like it to? When no one seems to be on your side, the reasonable thing to do would be to find some place where you are accepted. Unless your goal is more about getting attention and annoying others than discussing soccer.

I do not like bullying, racism etc. I tend to stand up against it. My proudest achievement at school was standing up to an older boy who kept bullying someone who the posters on here would call a "spas". We both ended up in front of the headmaster with our parents and I got a beating but he never did it again. But you're right it's a waste of time with these mods.

That is not just from an SE poster that's from an SE poster who is also a mod. It tells me all I need to know about the moderation of the forums.

I only rarely post in SE, so I'm not an SE poster per se.

What I am is someone who recognizes that the different forums on this site are moderated differently, according to what works for that forum (and the wishes of the majority of the regulars of that forum).

There are forums on 2p2 that allow pretty much no insults. There are forums that allow a certain amount of insulting. You appear to want NO insults of any kind to be allowed forum wide, which isn't in line with what most of the posters on this site want.

You aren't standing up to intolerance, you're being completely unreasonable. Particularly in light of the fact that, as I pointed out, to Americans (which compromise the majority of site posters, and probably a pretty healthy majority of SE posters) the word "spaz" is not the horrible insult that it is to you. To us it's on par with calling someone a dweeb or a dork or something along those lines.

The internet is a wide open place. Go find a soccer forum that fits your personality rather than trying to make everyone else's personality fit your ideal.

That's from someone who doesn't post in SE who is also a mod. She was using the 'wanker' there as a deliberate stereotypical Brit insult to generate humour since the previous posts between you two had been talking about the differences of word meaning for UK and US people.

Was that not obvious?

And that was all you took from my two posts?

Also, once again, if the mods did their job to the standard that you are wanting you would be banned.

The only bully here is you.

You're trying to bully the entire SE forum into changing to suit your needs. You aren't sticking up for anyone, you're not a hero or a martyr. You're just someone who has managed to make himself thoroughly disliked by everyone. If it isn't clear to you by now the SE is never going to change to suit you then you pretty clearly are the "most offensive term in the UK relating to disability".

As others have already said, your options are to either:

A) Stop reading and posting in SE.
B) Keep reading and posting in SE and live with with he culture.
C) Whine some more.

I've always done the right thing. I stood up for gays when it was unpopular and I stood up for equality for women when that was unpopular. I stand up against racism (and that includes against Muslims) and I stand up against bullying.
