I've told you, repeatedly, what he said in the video, and you agreed: a bunch of very wrong and misleading things about hate speech laws that basically don't exist.

For non Aussies, Alan Jones whining about Latham is like, I dunno, Rush Limbaugh whining about a young left wing John McCain? Alan Jones is the nation's premiere right wing radio host and Mark Latham, in a shameful episode in Labor's history, contested an election as Labor leader. His time as leader was because Labor were desperate in an election they were obviously going to lose so they put their "maverick" in. The later expulsion from the party was for basically similar reasons (I.e. that he's a "maverick"). Latham was once arrested for assault after breaking a cab driver's arm for allegedly taking him an inefficient way to his destination. He also allegedly once assaulted people at a Burger King, from memory for photographing him. He is an unstable individual.

So anyway Alan Jones is basically concern trolling, he hopes Labor implode. I haven't watched the video btw because I have no interest in anything Jones says.

Meant to mention in the Latham post that that election was the only time I have abstained from voting, which in Australia means showing up to vote and turning in a blank ballot paper. The choices were so bad that I felt the need to register a protest. I wasn't sure who I preferred. Latham's signature policy that election was "Medicare Gold", a giant cash giveaway to aging Boomers, basically the nut low. I think I voted for the conservative Coalition the election before that but could no longer stomach that.

He isn't whining about him. He is sticking up for him to be able to say what is on his mind without being branded a sexist, racist or whatever his detractors want to label him who disagree with what he is saying. But I also realise you haven't watched it but I think you should that is why I posted it. It is probably the one apolitical piece of commentary he has made to support rigorous and unwavering debate in Australia and for it to not be interfered with, or sanctioned as he puts it, so that the full ideas of an issue can be explored.

Well he is incredibly sexist, that much is clear. For the record I did watch it - again, he was fired because he insulted colleagues on air and called a random kid gay on air. And of course it's apolitical, he wasn't locked up or fined, he got fired because he insulted colleagues and called a kid gay. Not sure why you don't understand that
