Hello,

I haven't been to the forum for a couple of years and I have some questions. As you can see I haven't posted much here, but still ... I'm a registered user since 2013.

1. I can't access any of the edit profile, change avatar, options menus in the control panel, etc. I suppose first I need to be more active and post some replies to unlock that ?

2. I'm back with very good news for all the players which is the rules of a new no limit game and I need to make sure if this forum is the right place to do it. I must mention I'm not one of those guys who woke up in the morning with a so called "brilliant idea". I've been working hard on this for 12 years and I'd like to share with all of you the final result of my work. My knowledge about poker game design is on a very high level now. The question would be - which section should I use for starting a new thread to be sure that it is read and reviewed by the top pro players ("poker theory" or other) ?

3. Such thread might be a big one for poker and I need to make sure if y'all are ready and that my thread won't be closed, deleted or moved into another thread as a separate post. What should I avoid to not let this happen ?

4. In the thread I'd like to give some playing card examples and I need to know if there is an option for posting graphic miniatures of cards ? If so, how can I find it ("hand history converter" or maybe just some shortcut) ?

Thanks in advance, if I find more questions I will post here.

This Black Texas game you mentioned 6 years ago?

Right, and I think you'll find it's enabled pretty soon. The forum software does this once a day (I think it's in the wee hours North American time) automatically, so don't assume that because it's not enabled immediately, you haven't hit the post minimum yet.

But one thing I should mention - any advertising of services, products, etc. in your avatar or location field are prohibited, in case you were considering that.

Hard to say for sure. Is this something you hold a patent on and will be trying to market? If so, the answer may be the Commercial Marketplace. So I guess the first question would be what your goal is, both with the thread, and your game.

The answer to this probably is nowhere. The best chance would be NVG, but your thread definitely wouldn't belong there. I'd say you should start it in the appropriate forum, and if you want "the top pro players" to review it, you should reach out to them and direct them to the thread.

Of course we have good players who read all sorts of forums here, but you're only going to get a subest of them wherever you post.

Contact the mod(s) of the forum you plan to start the thread in, and see if they're on board with your objective.

Realistically, if anyone plays your new game it will probably be in a home game, so Home Poker might be the forum for you if your idea is complete.

If it's still in the design stage and you want to chat about it, Poker Theory would probably be a reasonable place to post.

No, please forget about that one. It was 6 years ago and my knowledge for that moment was very limited. Gaining knowledge about poker design takes really a lot of time, since it is nowhere to be found on the internet. I had to learn everything by myself, that's why it took me so long.

The game is not copyrighted, my goal is to make it as popular as possible and this would limit the spreading of the game. It's absolutely free and anyone can play it. My purpose with the rules thread would be giving it a chance to live by itself and starting a proper discussion. I'm ready to answer ANY question about the game, so I hope there will be plenty of them in such thread. It's all about delivering the game to the players.

I live in Poland and poker is illegal here (I don't play it ... I used to play it when it was legal). This makes the whole thing a lot more difficult for me. I just want to reach out to good US players possibly players from other countries as well. I hope to find people who are ready to take the deck of cards and take a closer look at my game then review it and maybe even play at a home game.

I think I will choose between these two you've mentioned, probably it will be Poker Theory. The game is ready, it is based on a very simple idea. I was thinking about posting a video on Youtube, but the problem with YT videos is that if they don't hit a minimum views it doesn't make sense at all.

Thanks for your replies, it's really helpful. The thread will probably be posted within next 48 hours.
