I enjoy reading 2+2. The ordinary posters drive the success or failure of this website. The happier they are, the more they will post. The more they post, the more likely 2+2 will continue. If the posters want something that doesn't violate the law or website rules/organization, it should be given serious consideration and a quick decision.

FWIW, Rapini pushed himself out all by himself. My opinion had no significant impact on the decision to demod him.

Don't worry everyone, I can handle moderating the thread.

Please. The Texas games being sequestered where they currently are is a disservice to the poker community in at least a couple of ways.

A) they're all grouped together. Roughly 270,000 square miles of land area and all the games together in one thread.

B) Texas is subjectively in the top 3 of juiciest games/venues. There's plenty to discuss, and that would bring more volume (posts) to the forum.

Plenty of rooms in Texas stream their games live on Youtube. Come on 2+2, get in while the gettin's good.

I think we're just in the quandary of a lot of Hollywood movies .. there's a rule in place but we don't know why and we're hoping the Hero will make the move to buck 'tradition'.

I believe the situation right now is that the most likely Moderator doesn't agree with 'any' of the activity in TX right now, so they don't want to be involved with it on a day to day basis. There's also the unknown reason why the limits were put on these discussions in the first place.

There was a time when 'all' the rooms in TX were operating in a much darker 'light' than they are now. My understanding is that they were all basically shut down until the now 'new' model of operations has been implemented AND APPROVED by local government whether it be begrudgingly or not. These places have gone thru the process to operate as any other business.

Whether we plan to visit these places shouldn't be a factor .. I rarely go to Vegas but discussions about it are almost daily in my games. The same goes for TX as Players will look to me for 'news' in the poker world. There was a time when Michigan Players were flocking to TX .. (not taking full credit for that, but it was a piece of the puzzle)

I know this is too simple, but if a topic has enough traffic it should warrant it's own 'room' to go to .. Dallas, Austin and Houston have all shown a decent volume of 'specific' information to justify them being separated from the others so users don't have to comb thru all posts.

TBH I don't know where most of the threads I look at are 'from' .. they're in my subscribed tab after the first post and then the rest is history for viewing.

I certainly don't know how moderation works, but wouldn't it be easier for a Mod if things were separated out?

I don't mean to rag/rant on .. but these TX rooms are all over YouTube, which watches their content pretty closely. And I'll say again that (IMO) ALL of the non-big boy poker Apps are much closer to the envelope than TX card rooms.

The hurdle here appears to be internal .. and just needs to be worked through. These rooms are 'here to stay' until they aren't, it's just a matter of where the discussions will take place. GL

Would the previous ownership have turned down an offer by one of the Texas cardrooms to sponsor a Texas poker subforum? (Or did they?)

Just wanted to pop in and say this hasn't been forgotten and there's discussion happening in the mod forum about possible solutions. I hope we'll have some news one way or the other over the next several days.

We were never approached that I know of. Whether such an offer would have been accepted or not, I'm not sure, but I think this answer of mine to a similar question would apply here:

I'm too lazy to ask Mason if he has any recollection of discussing this subject when he was in charge.

Any updates or still a discussion-in-progress?

The latter. We're waiting on responses from a couple of people, and I PMed someone today for feedback; realized they may not have seen the thread.

Still confident we'll have news on this soon, but it is summertime so we may have people who are away, doing other things, etc.

As an update, we've settled on a solution (hopefully) that everyone should be happy with. Just need to put a few last pieces together. Should be able to report back Sunday or early next week.

Hi folks!

So here's the scoop. We're going to move to allowing Texas rooms to have threads in the Venues & Communities forum now, as requested.

As part of that change, browser2920 is going to be rejoining as a mod of both Casino and Cardroom Poker (CCP) and the Venues & Communities (V&C) fora. Welcome back, browser! Lattimer will remain as a mod of both fora with him. I will be dropping as a mod of V&C, but will stay on as a mod of CCP.

browser and Lattimer will be making some new threads in V&C to handle statewide TX discussion as well as a few regional threads. I believe he is planning to discuss with the community which venues might need their own threads as well, but that is really up to him and Lattimer in the end. Just please wait for those threads to be created, rather than rushing in to create threads yourselves. It should happen in the next day, if not the next few hours.

I believe the plan is also for Garick to close down the current TX threads in the Home Games forum, and redirect people back to the new TX threads.

Hope that meets everyone's needs. Enjoy!

Thanks for your patience, everyone!

Just want to thank dinesh and Lattimer for working through this and finding a solution, and also browser for coming back on board as a moderator.

It took a few weeks, but things really came together pretty quickly once everyone was available to talk it through. We got there in the end - huzzah!

Hi Everyone! The new Texas Poker threads are up in the V&C forum. Please read the "Welcome Texas Poker to the V&C Forum" thread first to get an idea of how we plan to organize the various discussions of Texas poker rooms in the forum. Also, please be sure to provide your input as to which, if any, poker rooms are large enough or popular enough to warrant their own specific individual Venue Thread. I am very pleased to be back working with Dinesh and Lattimer again, and look forward to working with all of you as well.
