for a guy going into the military i not only expect better, i demand better! and actually his time was worse than 13 min but that was a while ago so cut it down to account for possible improvement.

The question isn't so much how it should be written as what the substance should be. Do you really want anyone who's been banned to feel free to e-mail Matt? If so, I (or someone) can write it that way. If not (as I suspect), you'll want another solution — perhaps an e-mail address devoted solely to this issue (which could be set to forward to whatever mod happens to be designated for the task, probably on a rotating basis, of forwarding banned poster's queries to the mods who banned them).

I don't know what the answer is, and I don't really care either; I was merely suggesting that the sticky as written is unhelpful. And yes, I can rewrite it, but as of now what I'd write would be pretty simple: basically (1) don't make a gimmick; (2) suck it up and wait it out; (3) if you must, e-mail Matt with a message for the mod who banned you, including your contact information.

Still OT, but the Army run is 2 miles, and back then I generally ran in the 14-14:30 range which was ok enough for no one to care much but still pretty mediocre. Young guys maxing that event needed 11:52, though the changed the scale somewhat since.

I'm thinking a young guy should be aiming for 10-10.5 minutes on a 1.5 mile run. Helps when there are early promotion waivers and whatnot. If you can go in doing 13 mins going in, at least you're working at it.

Apparently I was off by 3 seconds:

11:57 for 1.5 miles.

I can't think of a suitable response to this.

That's just about what it says now; and it is just about right - particularly the "suck it up and wait it out" part.

I look forward to seeing your rewrite.

Just think of a delicious bowl of duck stew. Mmmm, duck stew! The first thought that crossed my mind was that he needed a great big bowl of duck stew.

So I got tempbanned (the reason was listed as "requested -RB" which is not true insofar as I did not request a ban nor did I want one, but that's neither here nor there) and then logged in with one of my gimmicks to PM about it as per the sticky. I was immediately banned on that account (with which I did not post nor did I intend to post, and which I put into invisible mode so that no one could even know that I was around) for "evading temp ban".

So yeah, I think it's fair to say that the sticky could use an update.

I haven't been running because it's been in the twenties and there's ice all over my paths I run and I don't want to slip and fall and die of hypothermia (iow, I'm a pussy). But I went out yesterday and managed my 1.5 miles in 12:45 which is not good enough to pass, but I have more than 6 months to drop the time down. I'd really like for it to be under 9:30 so I can qualify for BMT honor graduate.

You should have taken one for the team and sucked it up.

Now it's your turn to rewrite the sticky.
