undesirable is often a term used for people who have scammed or have been suspected of trying to scam, especially in the transfer threads. is your friend a scumbag, or at the least, does/did he have more than one account on PS or FTP?

undesireable can also be used for people who have been banned multiple times for trolling and other inapporpriate behaviour. is your friend a really ****ty poster that no one likes?

if this is his first account, he probably did something shadey in a transfer or marketplace thread. if this is not his first account, his previous account(s) were really bad.

Tell us his 2+2 name and we will tell you why he was banned.

Lol "undesirable" is a really awesome ban reason.

Ban'em all and let Mat sort them out, I say.

Agree it is an awesome reason to ban someone. Actually quite ironic though if you knew who had been banned looks like.

Their name is Daisybella.

As far as I'm aware it is their first and only account, they certainly haven't or wouldn't do a anything dodgy in the marketplace. Very much doubt they would be trolling the forums either.

love the ambiguous pronoun usage.

i'm assuming that the person is a guy who is just using a female persona ('just had my first kid') in order to gain sympathy/approval. And you, in order to avoid lying or exposing the truth, have gone to extremely awkward lengths to avoid any indication of sex.

I just bought a new modem and after I hooked it up 2p2 says my Ip is banned. I emailed mat but I'm impatient. Is there someone I can PM my ip to get it unbanned?

Try going into your router and renewing your DHCP (he he he) lease to get a new IP address.

youll have to change your mac address first with most providers, otherwise youll end up with the same ip most of the time if you release, renew.

I now know you're not supposed to make a new account but i have no idea how long my ban is. I have never been banned before and received no email or anything concerning the situation.

I cannot contact anybody so i posted in the thread again. I guess this is wrong too. I only care because of the wait to be able to PM and the marketplace approved status of my old account.

Knowing these forums, there prolly isnt anything i can do about it, so i guess im screwed. Oh well.

I see that 3 posters from the Riesspect thread were given 2 day bans by PP.

franxic, Maybe_memories, NewDawnFades
Ban Reason: [series of off topic derailing polititard posts in nvg]

38 hours to go, take a break

Thank you. I couldn't read your PM, but i never really had an issue with why. I thought it was perma, because there was no warning and no way i could tell how long i was banned.

Why are you helping someone with such a polite screen name again?

Actually that's just a default setting for a OTBC, the mod who banned you probably just didn't change the default.

I'm going to guess the real reason is because you're a six times previously banned poster, which indicates you're a giant PITA on the forums.

Enjoy ban number 8.

Is Mat Sklansky's email mat@twoplustwo.com? If so, and I've received no response from him in over two weeks, does that mean that he's too busy to review my situation, or that he doesn't intend to, or that he's reviewed it and rejected my appeal, or none of the above? It would be nice to hear something back from him one way or the other.

None of us can really answer why he hasn't gotten back with you yet. I'd strongly suspect busy/holidays more than reviewed and just didn't tell you, but that's just my opinion.

That's his email AFAIK.

Try again, IME it's not that unusual to have to ask him more than once about an issue at times. He's got a ton on his plate.

In my experience Mat usually doesn't answer but PMs a copy of the email to a relevant mod.
There can be a zillion reasons why the mod never followed it up.

I don't know if it's just me, but when someone leads with "power hungry", it's hard to take them quite as seriously.

here's my take on the politics forum: i don't care about it.

it only exists because we want those conversations out of every other forum. i created the politics unchained forum so people who don't like the politics forum can have another outlet, but i really don't care about that forum either.

the one option available to almost everyone who was banned from the site is an exile from politics so they can use the site for more important things like talking about poker, movies or food.

Why people willingly chose to frequent the hellish pit that is the Politards forum I'll never fathom. Nothing good ever happens there, that's for sure.
