Ugly? You don't even know what it looks like lol

It would be similar to this :

But the same look as the 2+2 forum themed look. So same as the 3 buttons already on here.

Try harder !

Oh and btw, found this on vbulletin - maybe you don't even need to complicate forum with add-on downloads, I'm no forum tech, n' never intend to be - but possibly this bit of info might come in handy??

vbulletin- how do I insert a go to top link in ever post

OK Misti

It's still a solution looking for a problem imo though.

A "Go to Top" button does exist for vbulletin boards, why not make good use of it?
"Page Up" key? Are you a ****ing idiot? That was a picture of the "Home" key...

Please point out one other "useless button".

Meant to type both page up & home key - but seems I left out home - my bad. And no need to curse or insult is there? I'm not here to start troll fighting with you, which is possibly what you're looking to get outta this...

I'm done with this thread, let whoever hasn't voted vote - other than that, I've posted my suggestion and reason why I'd like it added (some have agreed, so not totally alone on this) but ...now I leave it up to the forum staff to decide and I will accept whatever they decide. (hopefully they won't ban me for suggesting this however?)

Thanks for everyone's input, including the staffs!

I don't understand how the quick-reply button works really.

It's the "Go to BOTTOM" button

Early votes coming in 60/40 against. Mods coming out against. Bobo comes out against.

Better hope Mat wants this, OP.
03-05-2012 , 09:18 PM
If this ever does happen it's probably after the upgrade.
03-05-2012 , 09:26 PM
I vote to remove the quick-reply button.

Supported. If you are commenting the immediately previous post you can do it comfortably without the quick reply button. And if you are commenting a post before that, you should use the Quote button.

So my logic tells that the quick reply button is useless, at least I have never utilized it.

I just use a mouse gesture addon for firefox. Hold the middle mouse button, move down, to the left, circle around counter clockwise 720 degrees and let go of middle mouse and bam bottom of the page.

Seriously, OP, just press the HOME key. Should they add buttons in every post for each letter of the alphabet, too? This is silly.

And a back button next to quote. In case you're really really in a hurry to go back a page.

Hey btw are you Sean?
Have you tried putting two fingers on your mouse pad and swiping up? It should work like a super scroll. 1 quick swipe should take you to the top of the page, even in a 100 post thread.

It works on newer Gateway and Asus systems by default in Firefox and Chrome without addons.

Not sure about older systems/browsers.

You mean to use the integrated mouse pad on laptop? Silly as I felt doing that, since doubtful it would do anything..., I tried it anyway - outcome: doesn't work.

See right now I'm typing in the dark and can't see/locate the home key button on laptop, unless I slant my monitor downward to view my keys - but if I have to bother doing that, might as well simply use the scrolling option.
03-15-2012 , 11:10 PM
You usually have to use the far right side of your pad to scroll that way, and it might be a setting that is disabled on your laptop, which you could restore.

Or your laptop just might not have that capability.

Yes, on the integrated pad..I just recently discovered it on a relatively new laptop.

What about if you use your regular 'right side scroll' area, but scroll FAST, it should blast through at least half a page in one swipe.

Windows 7?
firefox/chrome?

*EDIT Also, if you start on the scroll bar, swiping up, and move your finger into the field, and go in a counterclockwise direction, it SHOULD scroll up at a speed relative to how fast you circle.

If I use my regular right side scroll area - I have to 1st -click on my left button under my integrated mouse pad, 2nd - move the pointer arrow to the tiny scrolling arrow at the bottom, and then slide it upwards. Such a pain in the arse, tbh...

- maybe there's an option on my laptop where I can make that stupid slider slide faster? Dunno - but I have not found that option yet, but will keep looking.

I use Windows 7 and both firefox and chrome, but to view the forums I prefer chrome, since firefox is really slow or doesn't respond at times, for some strange reason. I do have the "scroll to the top page & scroll to the bottom page" add-ons on firefox, but on chrome they don't work well.

As for your edit suggestion - yes, I've tried that but it never reaches the top of page, just lingers in the middle.

Thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated...

We should have a "In Case of Emergency" button that summons Bobo.

We should have a ban OP button.
